Me, being the Scooby-Doo fanatic I am, decided to make a complete timeline of all the Scooby-Doo content that include the animated series, animated movies, live action films, and possibly the worst Scooby rendition which was the puppet movie all in chronological order. I wanted to show how the gang and the animation style had changed throughout the years, so enjoy!

Oh yes, I am updating and keeping up with this timeline! Out today ( Jan 9) on DVD and digital is the first Scooby Doo installment of 2018 Scooby-Doo! and Batman the Brave and the Bold

Airing tomorrow 3/29/18 is the next Scooby-Doo installment: ScoobyNatural. A Scooby and Supernatural crossover episode on the CW!

New Direct-to-DVD Movie: Scooby Doo and the Gourmet Ghost came out 9/11/2018. The gang visits Fred’s uncle BOBBY FLAY at his cooking resort and features the ghost of his professional chef ancestor.

Out today, 2/5/2019, is the direct-to-dvd film: Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost. Scooby and the gang get called back by Vincent Van Ghoul to solve Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby’s unsolved mystery by catching the 13th Ghost that escaped from the Chest of Demons. This is a conclusion to the 1985 series: The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.

6/27/2019: A new Scooby-Doo series is released - Scooby Doo and Guess Who? This show focuses on Mystery Inc. as they solve bigger mysteries while also encountering many beloved celebrities, similar to The New Scooby Doo Movies. This will be the 13th animated series in the Scooby Doo universe. You can stream this on Boomerang. 

9/3/2019: Scooby-Doo Return to Zombie Island. The much anticipated sequel to the beloved 1998 film Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. There are a ton of callbacks and flashbacks to the original film that makes this movie very nostalgic. The gang wins a trip back to Zombie Island for a vacation after selling the mystery machine and quiting mystery solving for good. Of course, things don’t go as planned as they find themsvels deep in a zombie caper. In my opinion, this is the best new age (2010-onward) Scooby film, but maybe that’s just becuase the original zombie island is my favorite Scooby movie.

5/15/2020: SCOOB! What was supposed to be the first animated Scooby-Doo! movie released in theaters; however, instead it was released on demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This film has a drastic change in both animation style and voice actors. Cast includes: Zac Effron as Fred, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, and Will Forte as Shaggy. This film also gives audiences a new take on the Mystery Incorporated origin story. Some familiar characters are featured such as the Blue Falcon and Captain Caveman.

10/6/2020: Marketed as the first Halloween themed Scooby-Doo movie, comes Happy Halloween Scooby-Doo! Featuring Elvira, Bill Nye and the notorious Batman Villain, Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow. This occurs in Crystal Cove which would be the first time returning for the gang since the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated show (2010-2013). Give it a watch to get in the spooky season spirit, anything is better than its predecessor SCOOB.

02/23/2021: Scooby-Doo The Sword and the Scoob has the gang “time traveling” back to the days of King Arthur’s Court in Camelot. Shaggy finds out he is related to the knight Sir Norville and the gang travels to England to see the town where Camelot once stood. The ghost of the nefarious sorceress Morgan Le Fay interrupts their trip and sends them back in time to get revenge on Shaggy / Sir Norville whom defeated her and sent her to her ultimate demise. Oh, there’s also a dragon.

9/14/21: Scooby-Doo! Straight Outta Nowhere (aka Scooby-Doo meets Courage the Cowardly Dog). The gang ends up in the town of Nowhere as Scooby and Courage are somehow drawn to each other via a mysterious frequency. The main monsters are these demon alien cicadas that are putting out the mind control frequency to help harvest a dark power source under the town. I couldn’t say I enjoyed this film at all, but if you like Courage then give it a watch I guess.
