din was pretty confident in his ability to assess a planet’s general atmosphere and weather. but, he wasn’t correct all of the time – and now appeared to be one of those times. he was sure the snow would be short lived and light, melting soon after it had fallen considering the weather recently. but, as if continued to worsen, he knew that wouldn’t be the case. he wandered into the nearby shop to take shelter, brushing off the snow that had gathered on him. he noticed the other looking at him, not sure how he felt about that stare. “this is a public space, is it not? please don’t try anything – i really don’t feel like dealing with that right now,” he warned.

At the older male’s words, Tim realized he’d been staring and quickly looked away. He hadn’t meant to, but someone coming into the cafe in full Mandalorian armor was not something he saw very often (aside from at cons). And with the weird situation he and everyone else were in...he had a feeling that that wasn’t just a guy in a costume. “Yeah, it’s a public space. And believe me, I’m not planning on trying anything.”

Tim sat in Lucky and Co. with a cup of coffee in one hand and a sandwich in the other. He was out of the house early to avoid Ben yet again, and he was once again focusing on why he (and everyone else) were stuck in town. However upon looking up at the sound of the door, he noticed it was snowing. And it was coming down pretty hard. Tim sighed; it was a good thing he happened to like the coffee shop (minus the bagels), or otherwise he’d have been annoyed about being stuck there. However at the sound of the door once again, Tim looked up...and saw someone he never thought he’d encounter.

I think it’d more likely be the other way around. That comment caused Ben to scoff before chuckling softly and nodding his head in agreement, “You’re probably right actually. You’re basically a little trash panda.” He teased, bumping his shoulder against Tim’s in a playful manner. Ben scrunched his nose up slightly at the thought before shaking his head, “As plausible as that sounds, I think at least one of us would remember something as traumatic as dying.” It was hard to remember what exactly he had been doing before appearing in town considering it felt like it was already so long ago. “I was finishing up playing a video game and getting ready to go skateboarding. Could’a been a freak accident I suppose.” He explained with a shrug. Definitely not the most eventful way to go out. He couldn’t help but crack a smile at the sheer fact Tim had already planned on staying with him, something he definitely wanted and needed at this point. “C’mon.” He nodded his head in the approximate direction of their soon to be home before setting off. “Auhild is gonna freak when she finds out that you’re here.” 

“I am a trash panda. I even have the dark circles under my eyes.” Tim joked, fully accepting the comment. “And yet you love me anyway.” He said, bumping Ben’s shoulder back. Even if he did steal his friends’ food, they all still loved him. “I mean maybe?” He said with a shrug. However he couldn’t help the snort that escaped him. “Maybe you died in your video game.” He offered. Going off of what both he and Ben had been doing before appearing in town, he highly doubted that this was some sort of afterlife. When Ben nodded and then started moving Tim had to catch up with him. “Wait...she’s here too?” He knew Morgan was there...but he hadn’t known about Audhild.

julien wasn’t entirely sure if the boy’s reply was a lie or not considering he had never encountered him before, but there was something that felt off about his reply. maybe it was the intuition that he was supposed to have as a conscience, though that was a fickle thing. he decided to sit down beside the other without asking for permission, hands easily clasping in front of him. “sounds like you have your work cut out for you, no wonder you look so stressed out.” upset was a better word for it, but he knew that stress was often expressed in several different ways depending on the person who was experiencing it. “have you figured out any common links so far?” he was curious and maybe this kid just needed some sort of distraction. 

Tim wasn’t bothered by the other sitting next to him, as long as the other didn’t try to lean on him. Or sniff him, which someone in town actually had done (although it had turned out he’d been smelling the pizza Tim had been eating).  “Yeah, I guess so. I didn’t realize I looked that stressed.” Tim said with a shrug. Then again, he was usually pretty good at managing his feelings due to Junior, so he assumed he was good at hiding his emotions. At the question, Tim shook his head. “Unfortunately, no. Aside from...our job...I couldn’t find something that would cause my friend and I to both come here.” Although one of his first reasons had been because they were Avengers, he didn’t think that was the common factor that tied everyone in town together. “Do you have any ideas as to why we’re here?” He asked.

“still feels like you’re being dramatic, but maybe that’s just me,” sacha said, mostly to himself. he was a sarcastic guy who could easily get snarky — he’d always been this way with everyone. obviously, as was the case here, not everyone reacted the same way to such things that weren’t as serious as they made them out to be. “well, it may not matter, but you still have to learn from it if you want to avoid it repeating. i’m just saying grudges shouldn’t matter,” he corrected. “of course i’ll be friendly. i’ll be the friendliest guy you ever met here, if you want me to go that far. i’m not here to cause trouble, obviously considering none of us chose to be here in the first place. but, i promise i won’t try to cause any sort of unecessary drama, try to break up any relationships, try to knife someone, or knowingly be in the way. are those good friendly standards, banner?”

Although annoyed, Tim decided to save his breath. “Whatever.” He muttered in response, squeezing his hands together in his pocket. “Grudges didn’t matter until you assumed they did. I asked you how long you’ve been here to see if I could find a common factor as to why we’re here.” He explained. Although the fact that Sacha was bringing up grudges was starting to bring up Tim’s own grudge against the other. However he took another breath; that was something to complain about after he’d had his coffee. And if anyone else had said Sacha’s next words, Tim would’ve snorted. The list he’d given wasn’t one an average person would give, but life as an Avenger was never average. And Tim was pretty sure Sacha would knife someone if given the opportunity. “They sound good to me.”

Benjamin kept his eyes locked on the ground beneath his feet as he awaited Tim’s reaction: whether it was flat out rejection or acceptance. But, he wasn’t prepared for what he had heard on the other’s part. It’s mutual. He swore his breath caught in his throat as he glanced up at the other, swallowing thickly as his gaze met his best friend’s. How had he missed out on the possible signs that those feelings were returned? He wet his lips as he continued to blankly stare at the other, unsure what to say next. Especially when Tim admitted that he had been in love with him since they were young. “You have?” There was obvious disbelief in his voice. His breath hitching slightly and his pulse quickening. Maybe not saying anything at a time like this was the better option. Instead of speaking on how he felt in probably the least eloquent way possible, Ben took a step forward and closed the distance between him and Tim. He cupped the boy’s cheek before leaning in and pressing his lips against the other’s. It was the only thing that felt right in this moment. 

Although Tim had no problem sitting in comfortable silence with Ben, this was not a comfortable silence. So when Ben stared blankly at him, Tim wasn’t sure how to react. The seconds seemed to tick by, the only sound Tim could hear was his own heartbeat. He wished he could say something to break the silence, but now was not an appropriate time to send a meme or quote a vine or crack a joke. When Ben finally spoke, Tim swallowed and nodded. “Yeah.” He’d always been too afraid to say anything, but his feelings had been there. As Ben stepped closer and pressed his lips to Tim’s, Tim felt his heart race. He was both excited and terrified at the same time. Although he wanted to kiss back, he pulled away to look at Ben. “I...I want to, but I’m scared.”

Giving the stranger some room as he requested, Scout backed up a little. “ I’m sorry, It’s just that smell… it’s intoxicating. “ he confessed as he took in the incredible aroma. “ I’ve never had pizza no, although I’ve tried spaghetti once when my little human spilled his plate on the floor. “ 

Tim relaxed once the other stepped back, letting out a sigh of relief he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. “Yeah, pizza usually has that effect on people.” Especially people who couldn’t get enough of it. “How have you...” Tim trailed off, before shaking his head. “You should go order a slice.” He’d even provide the barter. Just as long as the other could get his own slice of pizza. However at the other’s words, Tim tilted his head. “What do you mean by your human?”

“Probably lose the ability to lie, since believing everything I’m told could get very bad, very quickly. Hypothetically, someone could come up to me and say ‘You’re not an Avenger, you work for me’ and then I’d believe them.”
