Doorway To Young-Siders-Deactivated

Sideswipe whined. “I hate being cooped up.”he sank some in a saddened way. But was happy at his twins caring touch. He’d been lonely and had missed him.

"You won’t be cooped up," Thundercracker promised. "I can take you out later for a quick swim."

Sunny chuckled.  ”See Sides, you have MORE chaperons now than you did before.”

"I don't need chaperons!" He cried indignantly 

Sideswipe was literally dragged along.

"Any potential threats," Starscream replied. "It’s safer not to stay too long near the entrance. It might draw unwanted attention."

He nodded slowly, swimming in a slow circle to check out the cavern they’d ended up in.  ”Right… Sides, you know the rules.  Still not allowed to leave alone.”  He swam up behind Sideswipe and wrapped his arms around him, resting his helm on his twin’s shoulder and offering their hosts a smile.  ”Thank you for this.  It’s much bigger than anything else we’ve had.”

Sideswipe was lagging. Going slow. Still upset he’d done something to upset the only friend he’d ever made.

Starscream and Thundercracker slipped into the caves after making sure that nothing had followed them. They zipped around the twins, herding them into the cave and away from the door.

Sunny let himself be herded, if a bit annoyed by it.  ”What are we hiding from here?” he asked.  

Sideswipe was literally dragged along.

Sideswipe took a minute to realize his words had been mistaken. “I didn’t- I meant- I’ve got no friend or family besides him.” He’d just chased his new friend off by accident. “I’m sorry”

"It’s alright," Skywarp soothed as he showed them how to get into the underwater cave system. "Just don’t do it in the main cave and we won’t have any issues."

Sunny nodded, following Skywarp’s lead and glancing around for the other two as he kept Sideswipe close.  ”We’ll take care not to.”

Sideswipe was lagging. Going slow. Still upset he'd done something to upset the only friend he'd ever made.

"He’s been my only~" sideswipe purred leaning into the touches. Smiling softly before reaching a servo out. Asking his twin to hold servos.

Oh. He had not meant that at all. Resisting the urge to clear his throat, Skywarp flipped over and zipped over to where the entrance to their den was.

Sunny chuckled, lacing his digits with Sideswipe’s and tugging him to go faster and keep up with Skywarp.  ”Don’t worry,” he chirruped.  ”We’re not really exhibitionists.  When our bond strains, we find a private place to renew it.  Safe from predators and voyeurs alike.”

Dashing ahead he bumped Skywarp and smiled up at him.

Smiling, Skywarp patted Sideswipe’s head. “You and your brother are very close.”

"He’s my everything."  Sunny pushed ahead, buzzing softly.  "Has been since we were sparked."

"He's been my only~" sideswipe purred leaning into the touches. Smiling softly before reaching a servo out. Asking his twin to hold servos.

Sideswipe made a small happy squealing sound and hugged his twin tight.

Skywarp smiled before he swam forward. “The den’s this way,” he cooed as he started herding them ahead.

Sunstreaker smiled and tugged on Sideswipe so they could go without tangling up their tails.  

Dashing ahead he bumped Skywarp and smiled up at him.

"I want to," he said softly. "I’m tired of moving so often. And they-" even softer he said, "they took out a shark, sunny. A shark!"

"It was three against one," Thundercracker pointed out before he grinned. "But we are awesome."

More surprise, then respect.  Sunstreaker dipped in a soldier’s bow.  ”We’d be honored to share your home with you.”

Sideswipe made a small happy squealing sound and hugged his twin tight.

....I knew there was a reason that I liked warp the most. He's most like sunny.

Sideswipe relaxed at his twins touch. “I like Warp! He’s cool!”

Skywarp felt his dermas twitch in a smirk before he looked away. “You are welcome to stay with us, if you wish,” he offered.

Surprise made Sunstreaker’s biolights flicker, and he looked at Skywarp, unsure.  ”We’re not homeless,” he started slowly, warily.  ”If you’re doing this out of pity or some misplaced charity, we don’t need it.”  He glanced at Sideswipe, unsure.  ”But if you’re genuine… I’ll let my brother decide.”

"I want to," he said softly. "I'm tired of moving so often. And they-" even softer he said, "they took out a shark, sunny. A shark!"

Sideswipe made. Scared noise and hid more against his twin.

"Your apology is accepted," Starscream replied with a nod. "We were actually trying to help him find you."

Sunstreaker reached back to hold Sideswipe’s servo and nuzzle him gently.  ”Neither of us do well alone.  Thank you for keeping him out of trouble, I always worry when I have to leave him.”

Sideswipe relaxed at his twins touch. "I like Warp! He's cool!"

"You don’t eat sentient beings, you half-wit," Thundercracker growled as he flared himself up, his lionfish ancestry showing through in moments of aggression.

Sunstreaker pushed Sideswipe back, the lights on his tail glowing brighter.  ”I wouldn’t know,” he snapped.  ”We eat plants.”  He glanced at Sideswipe.  ”The plankton isn’t upsetting your systems?”

"No, not yet." He’d probably be sick later but it had been good and who knows maybe plankton wouldn’t hurt?

"Have you had any other mermech try to eat you?" Starscream asked as he straightened himself up. "And the plankton should not negatively affect his systems if the salt water is not."

"Not recently. But I know where to avoid. Great-White-mechs are fond of chasing me down during a forage." He looked between them all, wary. "If you really weren’t trying to hurt my brother, then I’m sorry for my use of force."

Skywarp growled as he went to see how Starscream was. He held his mate close, watching as Thundercracker circled them. There was no reason for the mech to attack them.

Sunstreaker made a displeased sound and turned, putting himself between Sideswipe and the other mermechs as he sized them up, wary.  ”Why did you help my brother?  I’d expect mechs like you to eat him.”

Jarred he wiggled reaching for his twin. Arms flailing as he tried to grab onto the other koi. “Sunny!”

Starscream yelped in pain and pulled himself away from Sideswipe. He rubbed his shoulder, fighting back tears as humiliation and shock rocketed through him. What had he done to deserve that?

Sunstreaker ran his servos over Sideswipe’s body, checking him for injuries.  ”What happened?  Did this mech fishnap you? I told you to stay put, Sides, why didn’t you listen?”

"I- there was a shell. It was pretty. Then I couldn't find where I was supposed to be." He snuggled close. "They- they're my friends. Skywarp helped me get plankton to eat~"
