I’ve been thinking about this.  I ran into the problem I was afraid I would and it’s deffo part of my fandom anxiety.

I started this before the Alpha kids got named (and I mean at that time I was like “a red path for Dave and Karkat is really hard to imagine right now tbh,” please shoot past me though tbf Terezi had to retcon to give them the dynamic needed. :Y).  So it is woefully out of date and I really can’t go on with the current materials as they are, not to mention my design sense has changed since then.  It’s well and structured and I still have a huge ass outline, but having the other trolls and the alpha kids helps fleshing it out more.  

For my own peace, I’d have to give it a hard reboot.  If I haven’t though… I think I’ll post the script for the original demo when I rewrite a new Day 1.  I still want to keep the same time frame of a month, the same kind of roles, and to cut down on COMPLETELY ruining my sanity, stick to the original beta kids and trolls romantic paths because lemme tell ya about 15 paths with alternate endings to each yaknow? XD (I think I was projecting something like 60-80 different endings depending on quadrants n shit like oh man my search system for different choices is fukkin nuts my dude).

I might post the partially finished Aradia outline too to get that across also. XD It’s a project I really want to do and want to finish, but I need to pace myself immensely.  It does help to see people still kinda hype for it so it honestly does make me consider bumping it up on my project list.  Especially cause right now I’m working on backdrops for a friend’s visual novel project and it’s giving me some motivation to revisit all my old high achool ref picks.

So I certainly have not forgotten YAKV.  But since the end of Homestuck I think I have a plan:

YAKV was started before the Alpha kids had their names.  So it’s now completely outdated.  With that in mind: I will finish the demo as written within the year.  I don’t know if the project will continue after that, but if it does, it’s going to call for a full rewrite and overhaul.

I’d be willing to write a full outline for a path with even the Alpha kids and trolls if anyone was willing to pick it up from there, but for now, I’m looking to just finish what I started.

I’ve finished the miscellaneous character sprites.  Now I move onto main character sprites fully. QuQ

Hey guys.

We've run into a little setback where all the .psd files I had with varying states of completion on a few sprites got permanently deleted in an effort to clean up 2TB worth of files.

I still have the sprites I completed and posted, but this means I have to start from scratch on a few.  I may open up for other artists to come on for some simple base color and copy/paste duty for sprites (if anyone is willing).  It'd definitely speed up the process.  I just need to compile all the sprite sketches again (thank freakin GOD I had them all properly resized and blocked out to consider text boxes).

Two years ago this month, I began working on YAKV.

And now we're at the point where we're making the game sprites, the script is being notated for timing on sprites and music, and I'm steadily outlining the rest.

So I'm in this for the long haul.  The demo will only be the beginning if I have anything to say about it.

No.  I've been asked, but I am quite determined that there be absolutely no voice acting.  Music and sound effects, yes, voice acting, no.

It's one area I'd rather keep up for interpretation.  Also it's another aspect Lia and I won't have to deal with managing (both in a directorly and programming way).

Ten rough sketches left for 125 sprites.  I'll resize, separate, do a second sketch pass, and maybe even start some finishes in this stream.  I'll have my mic on to talk, so make sure your volume is up if you intend to ask me junk~

Almost done with initial sprite sketches entirely.  Saved Karkat for last because he's a pain in the ass main character with nearly 40 sprites to himself out of 125.

Okay WOW, I didn't expect to get the response I did. XD

I have quite a few people who responded for my audio call and thank you so much for that.  At the moment I shouldn't need anyone else, but when the demo is done and we go into the rest of the (very long) game, we'll probably open up for more people in all areas.
