I don't want to do this anymore. I can't do it anymore. I'm so tired. It hurts. I'm burning with shame. I'm burning. It never stops burning. I never stop feeling nothing. I need to destroy myself. I need it to hurt. I need it to be spectacular. Oh God I need it to hurt.

when will it matter? when will it matter whether I am screaming and begging or if I am silent for days at a time? what difference does it make, if I plead to be seen, if I tenderly water a garden that bears no fruit every day, or if I leave it to the sun and hope it remembers my prints in the soil? do I ask? how? and it feels I am tilling sand, deluded that one day it may thank me for tending to seeds that aren't there. and perhaps I should have never opened my mouth so much; I should have never made this obscene effort normal, for I have made it expected, and harbored a fear that to lessen the burden is to put in danger any progress. I was not meant for tenderness, for sharing my life like the sweet pieces of an orange. I was meant for the bitter of winter, and I do begin to miss it. and the summer closes to an end, and with it a mourning of another period of missed joy. and I think I may be a tall oak, doing nothing but shedding my leaves as the winter draws closer, believing this will be my death, and rejoiced in the spring when I live, and again despaired when the temperature grows colder. I will never learn to break this cycle. I will tend to a garden with no fruit or flowers, and I will till the sand with no seeds, and I will pray a miracle makes them love me back.
Iām sorry
I miss you so deeply and so earnestly that I often find myself wishing I still had a place in your heart, and in your thoughts.
Though we still talk, I find every conversation feels like a desperate grasping at sand that keeps falling between my fingers.
I wish I still entertained you.
I wish I was worth remembering.
I wish we still had the sweetness of last June in our hands,
As I woke up at 5am to participate in a silly game just to spend more time with you.
I wish I appeared in your symbolisms, the markers of the important people in your life, like a grand gallery of loved ones
I wish you talked of me fondly still, and not in passing mention
I wish it did not hurt to count how many days it has been since you spoke to me last,
I wish I did not count at all.
I wish you'd call me all day as you do with everyone else,
I wish you'd invite me to anything at all.
I wish we still played games together,
As a team or in quiet as we played separately.
I wish we still had groggy nonsensical conversations as you rode the early train to work and I procrastinated sleep to talk to you longer.
I wish you'd text first.
I wish I was your first choice.
Perhaps it is a selfish wish,
Self-centered and self-serving,
I just wish I didn't feel like I'd need to disappear entirely before you'd notice the wilted grass where I'd been standing in wait.
I'm fine except that nothing I say is of value to anyone, and I'm no one's first choice, and I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall waiting for something to be worth talking to me about, and I dissociate when it rains even though I love the smell and I'm complicit in hurting others and I still can't eat breakfast and I can't email my teachers to take quizzes because I'll shake like a leaf when we call and I'm behind in my work and I feel utterly useless and getting 90% on everything feels like something I should be proud of but I just can't be for some odd reason and maybe I'm depressed? but I know I have a future, but it doesn't seem like a real future so much as a vague "I guess I'll get there". and I send my friends a text every day and maybe it's a me problem and maybe I'm unlikable and annoying and maybe this loneliness doesn't change and maybe I'm going to hurt for everyone else forever and I'll never be loved back the way I want to be and maybe I'll never have a crazy adventure with anyone and maybe I'll work a 9-5 job forever and die unhappy and one day my cat will die and I will grieve so hard my heart shatters and I have this little tumblr blog to scream all the things I'd never tell anyone else (I'd never be a burden on purpose) and I want to be seen so badly I ache in the shower to be held and I feel like a dog trotting along the heels of my loved ones and I want to be the spotlight for once but I never quite make the cut and I'd never dare to ask to be and I haven't left my house in weeks and I never want to leave it again and I don't want to rot here never having made a friend and I'm contradicting myself and I should be doing homework but I washed my hands in warm water and that makes me feel unreal in the right conditions and I didn't recognize my face in the mirror and now my friend has responded but I've been stuck up listing all the things that are wrong
And I'm fine
I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning I'm burning

where do I go?
who do I talk to?
who can I tell my most terrible secrets to?
I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine
you need me to be strong
I need me to be strong
when do I stop powering through, though?
when does pushing through the fog
become absolute blindness?
and how do I tell you I'm suffering,
not quite badly,
but suffering.
I promised I would stop when I got what I wanted.
but, now I'm here,
in limbo,
happier than before; too happy to be ill
but suffering; suffering too much to be better.
and there are no ears who listen,
who hear my soft spoken cries.
I tell you "haha, my brain is funny when I don't eat"
I tell you "I'm living on caffeine"
I tell you "I'm sleeping on the bathroom floor"
and we are both blind to the problem at hand.
please listen to me
there's nothing else I can say
I'm begging you to look at me
how else do I show you how bad it hurts
you TOLD me to tell you when it HURTS
I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying
please listen to me
do I miss summer or do I miss not having to double my workout because I ate a slice of pie?
"Something must be done,
This body is not mine.
I cannot live if nothing changes,"
I muttered with the tips of my fingers in grace over the curves I despised.
There he stood behind me,
Masculine and beautiful,
"You'll make it. I'll help you change quickly," he murmured to me,
Gently and persuasively.
"I need someone, anyone, to see how bad I'm hurting,
I cannot be heard with my frail voice,
I will die if no one sees me,"
I whimpered alone in the dark, unable to cry though I desperately needed to.
There he stood beside me,
An image of sickness,
Surely someone would notice this friend I invited,
"Someone will see. Your body is a temple. People will know the gods have died if it withers,"
He whispered, cold hands around my shoulders,
Softly and kindly.
"I need to succeed. I'm never, ever good enough. Please let me have something,"
I begged from my rotted temple, empty and unforgiving.
There he stood in front of me,
Showing me himself, a work of persistence and success,
"I know you've never been praised. Someone ought to say something this way,"
He smiled,
Encouraging and warm.
My body began to fail me,
No one blinked an eye,
My goals grew out of reach.
"Thank you for your help,
But I think I'll try something else."
I said, my courage gathered and mind made up.
"Well, I cannot convince you to stay. Even if you grow fat,
Even if no one cares about you anymore,
Even if you never succeed at anything...I cannot make you stay."
He sighed, not batting an eye.
I crawled back when the world began to hurt again.
I forgot the pain of him,
"Surely-" I thought, "It must be different this time."
I tasted food
I enjoyed the freedom
now I'm out of control
please
please
stop!!

there is nobody in the world more yearning for my love and compassion than my body
how sad it is that I remember so little of my most innocent days.
