so, undertone.

it's weird because on one hand, everything about it was so predictable and....basic? something we've seen a dozen times. the imagery was nothing new. the concept was nothing new.

however.

it was weirdly sincere because of that? i don't know how else to explain it. like, it was baby's first horror movie and for some reason that meant i ended up really enjoying it because it wasn't trying to do anything new except in how it scared you. and it definitely scared me so i'll give it that, especially since it didn't have a single jumpscare.
