Yinfan Huang Illustration

I recently had the opportunity to create a gif for Chief Investment Officer relating to an article about the concept of ‘failing to launch.’ With the help of AD @sbuzelli, we worked through a more active composition to start (slide 1) but ultimately went with a minimal final image (slide 2) where the movement of the piece was contained to the glow of the moon. This was the first time I tried to animate my own illustration and it was so much fun! I created a new editorial illustration for PLANADVISER Jan/Feb 2018 issue! It's about the importance of education and how good it is to save for it. It's always a dream to create illustrations true to my interest and style. Thanks to my art director SooJin Buzelli for this fun assignment! <3

So happy to see the illustration I created for Plansponsor Magazine being included in this year's American Illustration 35 Annual along with so many talents. I had a great time at their annual launch party last Thursday. Special thanks to AD SooJin Buzelli and the jury for giving me the opportunity!

I created this illustration inspired by one of the stories from a great Swiss children’s book “Als die Welt Noch Jung War” (“When the World Was New”), by writer Jürg Schubiger. The book is utterly original, imaginative and poetic. This story is about a vagabond city who wanders around, and one day it went missing. A young man then set off on a long trip to find the city and his mother who lives in it. It's really interesting to see how illustrators reflect themselves into their work, often through identical characters. To me, somehow I feel very connected with a mysterious gentleman in my work. Working on the illustration for a new children's book.

•••••••••••••• At first I had a difficult time came up with the concept of home because this is something I question a lot (being someone away from home so far and travels a lot) and I wanted to explore the topic deeper. But in the end I decided to take it easy and simple and created my ideal home/workspace mixes with real and imaginative details.
