Presenting our new model: the GRANDPA I LOVE YOU 3000.
An upgrade to the GRANDPA I LOVE YOU 2000 from 2024 incorporating some of the luxury features from the GRANDPA I LOVE YOU 2025 SPECIAL EDITION with several new features never seen anywhere before and two bonus modes that can be entered for a monthly fee. A new interface and tighter software debugging make this the version you've been waiting for.
and...?
(In all honesty, this is likely from a set labelled THIS / AND / THAT.)
The G-rated verison of 'FMK'.
"This is like that, but you can print the name on the box. Win points when you correctly guess your friends' rankings." -- BGG
Exact same product (just different packaging and flavor cartridges included), two dollars and eleven cents difference. *shrug*
tangental note: I've been using Cirkul for years and I approve of the product, have had three of the four flavors shown (not a fan of 'mixed berry' anything), and do not own a plastic bottle because the lids fit thrifted double-wall metal flasks -- larger volume and insulation are my jam. FYI their website offers a limited-time flavor every month and the one that dropped yesterday is Glacier Berry... nope, thanks.
The "Jup"
It was a handmade piece from the 1980s based on the signature underneath.
jandmade
That'd go nicely with the mug my great-aunt made me in 1979.

Somebody's wedding on VHS.

Can I get a drink straight from the tap?
Proof that happiness is free.
"Double happiness" or Shuāngxǐ is a ligature of 囍 (meaning 'joy joy'), a Chinese traditional ornament design, commonly used as a decoration symbol of marriage. The color is usually red (for luck) or black.
🉤
okay, in closer examination it's supposed to look like a shuang xi for those who don't know better but it really isn't the character, it's more of a geometric pattern. so can we say "imagined double happiness"? "pretend this marriage is happy"?
Earplugs can save this marriage.

It was a good Friday for me.
Habitat #1: They had refilled their five bins with Temu-variety Amazon items so I picked up a soil tester, a pair of 3-way penlights (UV, red laser that does several patterns, flashlight), and an LCD scribble board.
Avenue Thrift: Great conversation with the ladies but nothing I had to have. They did get in some vintage car magazines but these were geared toward car collectors, not hotrod-building fans.
Habitat #2: They had refilled their four bins with Temu-variety Amazon items and some other things, but nothing I wanted to bring home. I should got the Ove Glove for $5, down from $15...
Skooley Thrift: Bought a Sansa MP3 player for my bud Wayne, who has a power cord for the stupid proprietary connector this model has. (I thought I had one too but he must have loaned it to me briefly to test one of his players.)
Deseret: Santa Shroom!!
Yardsale: I've been to this place before, years ago -- it's where I got thousands of slides and my projector for $10. So this time everything is a dollar each, so I picked up a couple USB power packs (5AH units that are usually paired with electric socks or gloves) as spares.
Estate sale: It's wild how some people live! So from this one I picked up Department of National Mental Health And Welfare's The Backward Child ("to help parents in the care and training of the backward or mentally retarded child in the home"; y'all would love it), a heavy padlock, Kodak's Master Photoguide (an amazing reference full of wheels and charts), and a package of twelve Brownie color negatives of a little boy who got a Tonka truck for Christmas.
Autographed publicity photo of Tyra Banks at Deseret.
