current stuff sucks shit and I truly truly truly wish I didn't feel this way because I so badly for the past 17+yrs have wanted to simply be a consumer of a product and have it be good, rather than having to manually rebuild infrastructure myself so that clothes can suck less
modern kw is owned by one of the jnco brothers, which the current incarnation of jnco truly does have higher quality products in design and material, but their models are alienating from their actual audience and their price point is for rich kids only and that's my gripe with them lol
the current kikwear designs are lacking in imagination imo and don't have cool tags or packaging (or advertising etc.). The current kikwear 69s are abysmal in design because the bottom hem line doesn't align with the top waistband, which is required if you want a non awkward silhouette for any design featuring openings larger than 40". It causes the inseam hem to be about 5+ inches longer than the outseam when you wear them (compared to every original 69' cut that solved this problem easily). things like this lead me to believe the designers don't functionally understand the garment they are creating, which leads me to my overall tldr mantra I have shouted for the past decade and a hill I will die on forever:
I don't trust any brand owner that isn't also a consumer of the product they produce; if you make rave gear and you don't wear rave gear regularly youself, you are a scab and you will make a shit product lol
