About Mob helping Touichirou pre-explosion,
And I made a post before about how it went down: how Touichirou opened up about his wife which got Mob to relate by thinking about Tsubomi! So that's why the power he's absorbing from Touichirou goes towards his heart, and because Mob had broccoli seeds in the pocket thats in that specific place that's above his heart, both of them, and everyone else in that vicinity survived.
And I'm thinking about my other post about how both Mob and Shou have an "it's okay to run away" character arcs, and and how Shou was completely against running away at first, how the equivalent of 7th division arc's Mob's "its okay to run away = let Reigen handle it" was wd arc's Shou's "its okay to run away = let Mob handle it"
And I can't help but think about that alternate bad case scenario, of Shou being the one there with Touichirou instead,
Of Touichirou talking about his regrets towards his wife, of how in canon Mob said he should tell her how he feels, of how in canon, Shou also told him that the original plan was for them to meet and that he still has to get scolded by her.
And I'm thinking about the alternate scenario of Shou, absorbing Touichirou's powers while thinking about his mom, as these powers go towards his heart,
to where that circular patch with the first letter of his name "s" thats shaped like a lightning bolt thats on his jacket is.
And I'm thinking about Shou, how he's considered the character that's more typical of a shonen type protagonist. And how he considered his role as Touichirou’s son is to stop him, and how his role as someone who has powers is to use them for justice.
And he wanted his dad to live, he wanted his parents to talk, Touichirou has no right to end it all and still deserves to get scolded by his wife.
Even though it was Touichirou who wanted to be a main character even, Shou, as the doomed protagonist in a doomed narrative, was literally marked above his heart where he was going to be killed.
The doomed narrative of it all.
