im realizing very fast that people do not in fact know that sometimes things in stories suck on purpose and it sucking is the point

it's good enrichment for The Character(s) when one of their friends gets possessed and they have to find some way to bring them back. great friendgroup bonding activity. especially if they have to do some exorcism bullshit and it's traumatizing for everyone involved and there's collapsing and sobbing afterward. great thing for The Character(s) to do. highly recommend.

when you watch a movie where a character gets whumped but they barely show it or the aftermath… or the character dies and it’s IMMEDIATE, not even an emotional death scene in their lover’s arms… no cries of pain… what’s the POINTTTT!

the thing about growing up with siblings in an abusive household is that ultimately you're each other's jail wardens and whipping boys and that does things to you no matter how much you sincerely love each other and understand why it happened the way it did and wish you could have been big and strong enough to save both of you
