Welcome to the Digital Fox Wordpress Quick Tip. In this Quick Tip I will be showing you how simple and easy it is to create HTML using your wordpress site. So the first thing that we want to do is we need to go and log-in to the admin of the web site. Now it doesn't really matter which you use either Post or Pages but what we want to do is click add new. What you're going to see here we don't need to fill out any of the other information What we want to do is I look over here at these tabs we have a Visual and HTML So what really what I want to do is I want to add a banner to sidebar of by website so the first thing they need to do is actually a upload the image uploaded the image to the media library and as you can see it went ahead and uploaded it for me so what I want to do is select none the full-size that fine and go ahead and click insert. now what you can see is that the images actually been inbedded right into the site so I can do whatever I want I can add more text I can do any of that type of thing but now that I have the the information that I want here I can go ahead and click HTML and there's all the code right there for me so I can go and select and copy the code and now let's go over to a appearances and widgets and where I want to do is on my primary widget it area I want to add a text box So we will drag that right over and drag and dropping, Cut and Paste the code right over and click save go back and visit the site and as you can see the banner has been at it right there on the side so there's a lot of great ways that you can actually use that to create HTML code You can use it to put it on your Facebook or other sites or other things that you kind of work on creative you add text you can bold it, do color, create links all that fun stuff but as you can see it's very simple to get in there you don't need to be a webmaster and that know HTML in order to create HTML and how to use it successfully to find out more quick tips like this visit TheDigitalFox.com/wordpress

In this video, you're going to learn about using HTML to add structure to your web pages. HTML stands for hypertext markup language and it's found on all websites across the internet. There are a bunch of different HTML structures you can use on your web page including: headers, lists, paragraphs, links and images. Let's take a look at how to create a paragraph in HTML. The sentence we wrote for our web page would look better if it was distinctly different from the title of the webpage. To separate the two, you need to let the computer know that all this text is a part of a paragraph and not the title. You can do this by creating a paragraph element. Most elements are made up of three main parts: the opening tag, the contents to be displayed and a closing tag. Tags are a part of HTML language and they signal to the computer the start and end of the element. In this case it's "paragraph". Tags let the computer know what we want to display on the screen and what we don't want to display. That's why I tags include special characters like the less than and greater than to distinguish from the content. Paragraphs are just one type of structure you can use in a web page. Hello everyone, Eddie the Magic Monk here. I'm going to show you how to edit the HTML code of a web page so let's open up a web page that is blank and I've just created this page for demonstration purposes so what I'm going to do is I'm going to press F12 on your keyboard to see the code of this web page and right now because there is nothing on the screen the code is pretty empty so what I'm gonna do is right-click between body and slash body which indicates what is shown on the page and right now there is nothing in between the two tags so between them I'm now going to type hello my name is Eddie and let's get out of that and you can see that the change is immediately shown on the web page so let's add in something else so let's right click again edit HTML and let's make the word Eddie red, so bracket font color equals red right in quotation so let's see if that works and let's get out of that and you can see the word is red now okay so that's how you edit the code on a web page now notice that this is not saved if you want to save this you will press ctrl s and you can save it somewhere on your computer but obviously you won't you won't be able to save it remotely on a server this way so let's save it and close it down and next time if you open up the same HTML file it'll have the code that you modified last time okay thanks for watching guys see you next time.
