happy birthday bullets. an album which is fundamentally about hanging out outside gas stations at night and getting your eyebrow pierced in a grocery store parking lot and bottom shelf liquor and pot smoke in your hair and cigarette holes on a mildewed couch and cigarette butts in the cup holder and making out with your best friend and fucking your enemy and thinking about killing your boss and your dead cellphone battery and your friend who knows a guy who knows a guy and red slashes through calendar dates and the rusted muscle car up on blocks at the end of the street and past due notices stacking up in the mailbox you don’t check. and also vampires

I've had trouble tracking down the original photographers, but these mostly appear to be pictures of the blast furnaces in Belgium (called things like Haut-Fourneau 4/6/B etc.); here are some other pictures of HFB, of HF4 Charlenoi, and some of HF6 Seraing, by other urban explorers. the first picture is probably cables for an arc furnace, I saw one Instagram post claim it was in Canada but it didn't seem to be the original.

who cares if you don't fully "get" the weird postmodernist novel on your first read, or if the experimental arthouse film is opaque to you on your first viewing? you are not being graded. you are not being scored. there is value in the attempt. every time i've read House of Leaves or watched Blue Velvet, I've gotten something new from it. the idea that you might not "get" something and therefore shouldn't bother with it is so silly to me

another addition as far as physical media goes there is the encyclopedia of national dress (that i still need to buy myself bc this kind of thing is super important to my sort of fantasy designing) but yes i do agree i wish there was EVEN MORE documentation on this
