Sadist after coffee

The crooks of this part of town had learned to avoid him so they turned into background noise to the villain. He did not pay them any mind and in return, they would not have to fear the wrath of the league. It was as easy as that. And so it was somewhat surprising to him, for someone to approach him. Not only that, but to approach him and ask a completely pointless question as well. 

   “Hah?”

He stared at her for a moment, eyeing the woman up and down. No one he recognized, no one he had ever seen around here either. Perhaps a really naive tourist.. Or someone who was tired of life. 

       “What the hell does it matter to you?” 

       Perhaps she shouldn’t have asked that. But then again, she was never good at talking to other people. Let alone someone giving off a bad soul. It wasn’t like other souls she’s read. It was dangerous. Someone she did not want to mess with, that was for sure. Even if this man were to piss her off some how.

      “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t...”

    “Coffee.” He hands her order over and then starts on his own—a triple espresso completely black. The first jolt of caffeine kick starts his brain and let’s him know that he’s been talking to another person the entire time. Well, this isn’t the best first impression.

    “Wow…I am SO sorry.” He groans, lifting his eye protection up to rub at them. “I had a very long night, back-to-back emergency calls. I got maybe an hour of sleep…anyways, how can I help you?”

      “Oh sweet sweet coffee,” the girl purred and she brought the cup to her lips and sipped it, not even waiting for it to cool. It seemed the scalding water bothered her none, some how.

      The demon slowly lowers her cup and looks to him, “Ah, no worries. I’ve had no sleep for three days now, so I was losing it without any coffee. I usually get banned from a few stores around here due to... problems,” she muttered the last bit, looking away.

"I hardly have both, I hate bein' alone."
