Even though they'd been apart all this time, nothing had changed now that they were together again. Stefan was still the same person that she knew and the brown haired woman hoped that she was the same in his eyes too. "I don't need you to go soft on me because you already did that when you pulled me in for a hug. No need to get all sappy again and let me win, so let's see what you've got. Go full speed with me." she challenged and while she knew she was rusty with her supernatural abilities, Lexi tended to pick things up speedily. But this was a good way for her to get back into the swing of things, to start her second chance at living.

heaving out a gentle sigh with a shake of his head, stefan's amusement on his face slowly evaporated. a challenging look was given to his best friend before he tilted his head to the side, emerald hues still twinkling. "full speed it is." and with that last word, stefan bolted off in the direction towards the boarding house. everything around him blurred but his attention was so fixated on winning, the younger salvatore charged onwards. he had used his vampiric speed for so many years that it all felt natural, like nothing could halt him in his tracks. stefan felt nearly invincible in moments like those, simply because a mere human couldn't wield such abilities. once inside the boarding house, his speed slowed and stefan's eyes traced the environment in haste while he wondered if lexi had beaten him or not.

Maybe Stiles wasn't good with words in his mind, but Malia disagreed. On top of that, he was also very good with actions and he'd already proved that by pulling her close. She was someone who constantly craved physical contact - it was how she operated and that would never change. Luckily, Stiles comprehended and reciprocated that trait, which made him perfect for her. Another thing that she loved about Stiles was him being considerate when it came to her - even now, he was willing to try with words despite the fact that he was under the impression he sucked with them. Her head turned slightly at the touch of his nose, feeling the tip brushing against her soft skin. His lips felt warm, prompting Malia to close her eyes in a content manner, releasing a delightful hum. "Mmh, you're definitely trying... I can feel that."

"Thank you, Stefan Salvatore. I had no idea the undead community had made you its president while I was gone." Lexi commented with a sly smirk covering her lips. It was good to be home and even more so because her best friend was the first person she'd seen ever since she'd clawed her way out of her coffin. Upon his question about the boarding house, the vampire tilted her head and lifted her eyebrows - as if the answer to that question should be blatantly obvious. "I died, Stefan. I didn't get amnesia. And besides, the other side allowed me to go wherever I wanted, including your house. I was there, you just couldn't see me." the brunette explained, which was one of the hardest parts of being on the other side - she could see everyone and go everywhere, but she was invisible to them all. So many times had she wished that she could stop catastrophe from happening or save Stefan from making a terrible mistake. But since she was dead, Lexi had been reduced to a mere spectator and had no influence or control over anything that happened in the world of the living.

a warm and generous smile filled the vampire's face easily, stefan canting his head back a fraction in response. if he were the president, things would've drastically changed in his hometown. however, the vampire was still on the sidelines, trying to make sense of the ever growing mess of a town. "is that your way of admitting that you were stalking me?" pausing, both his brows elevated. "a ghostly stalking, of course." even though he was making light of her comment, stefan couldn't fathom being in her position. and now, to have to live the horrors of climbing her own way out of the earth and her resting place, stefan knew lexi needed a safe space to decompress and come to grips with living again. "i'll even give you a head start, if you like." again, a gentle prompt but a jest nonetheless. even when lexi wasn't living, even when she'd crop up as a ghost here and there, their connection hadn't faded in the slightest.

"What right do you have to pry into our lives? Kindly keep your assumptions to yourself, quack!" Layla snarled at the oracle. If she and the shady woman were in the establishment alone, she would have beaten her to a bloody pulp. It took a few minutes for her to simmer down-- though she still was on edge. There was something off about the seer, and she intended to figure out what that was. "Don't listen to her, Hana. She knows nothing about us." The oldest Kumiho found herself unable to shake the impending dread, even as her sisters put comforting hands on her shoulders. She exchanged a knowing glance with Jasmine, and said brunette nodded in understanding. "Can we go now? I see no point in paying for this 'psychic reading.'" Jazzy grasped Layla's hand and threaded her fingers through hers. "Just be patient. The reading will be over soon." Although she wanted to leave, she stood rooted to the spot. The oracle's reading had piqued her curiosity and she couldn't help but listen closely. "There's going to be an ending or a loss in our future? How can you be sure?" So far, this reading didn't go as she imagined; there was ill intent in the old woman's bespectacled gaze.
