the contradiction lies in men expecting pious & respectable wives while simultaneously engaging in behavior they wouldn’t tolerate in their wives. when a woman deliberately refrains from such conduct, men fail to apprehend the psychological toll imposed by this asymmetry due to the fact that they are not subjected to equivalent scrutiny & vulnerability. this imbalance transcends a mere failure of respect, eroding a woman’s sense of worth & forcing her into silent submission of unspoken competition for his validation
