“The OK Corral” Shuffleboard Streaks of dark brown and spotty knots are defining characteristics of the hand-selected wood. Precision milling emphasizes the swirling grain pattern and coloring of the wood. The main box is constructed from corral wood, and the playing surface is 2x4 barn framing. The playing surface is milled down and smoothed out, then finished with epoxy. The large nail holes from the corral wood is surfaced, while a few large pole barn nails are left to preserve the woods origin and character. The unique scoring system was designed by Spark Monkey and will be fabricated by Crucible. This set also features a removable top, which can be stored under table for shelving or to cover your playing surface to entertain guests. “The Harthold” Shuffleboard Wood and steel together is a popular aesthetic, and for good reason. The versatility of this material combination makes it a good fit for almost any space, whether commercial or in the home. Such versatility is evident in the Harthold, a shuffleboard that stands in a class of its own. The curved metal base of the Harthold provides continuity to the rectangular wood playing surface. Part of the genius in the work of architect Frank Lloyd Wright was his strong use of horizontal lines, which are associated with a feeling of quiet and rest. Borrowing from the master himself, The Harthold boldly uses horizontal lines from the shape of the wood box, to the lines of wood on the playing surface. Soft, shallow curves are associated with comfort, familiality, and relaxation. Although the soft curves of the base visually offset the horizontal lines of the box, the combined effect is the sense of relaxation. Not only does The Harthold provide visual relaxation, its direct function as a shuffleboard game is also fun and relaxing as well. “The Stone” Shuffleboard The Stone contains many of the same characteristics as The McKenzie, but differs slightly with its materials. We used a more rusted galvanized metal, lighter wood that is planed down and heavy-duty black pipe that is welded together instead of screwed. The Stone is a bold combination of textures and materials that is rustic yet modern. The playing surface is constructed from authentic recycled milled down barn wood. The edging and inside wrap is made from galvanized roofing. The rusting in the roofing pairs beautifully with the aged wood. The base is a black pipe material that has been welded, sanded, primed, and painted. This set was custom designed and built for a clients ranch home. All the wood was recycled for the second time to create this one of a kind rustic game. In the 1950’s this wood was Salvaged by the clients father to make a horse barn and then we went in, reclaimed the wood materials along with the raw cedar posts to make this set to be in remembrance. We are excited to launch @xplorgames in collaboration with @crucibledesignstudio and @magdesigninnov . Website and full launch will be up and running by next week. This is one of our new designs, the mini shuffleboard. Measures 6’ in total and fits in almost any space. This set was built custom for @mountainswalkingbrewery to fit in space they had available. It has recycled wood for game surface, box, shelf and storage boxes on rolling castor wheels. The steel legs were fabricated by Crucible. This Skeeball set was made to match a full set for a client including a shuffleboard, pingpong table, dart board and full mini bar. Set was made using recycled rusted steel and wood for main layouts and for the cage to catch balls wrapped chicken wire around black pipe.
