      Pelts book at his head and takes shelter behind Mikoto like some sort of cowering bird, “GO TO BED!!!”

Just takes all the pillows for herself, makes a wall of them dividing themselves from Zidane before settling into her spot. It seems as though she was quickly heading to sleep afterwards, but not before letting out a low (almost?) growling voice, as though she knows Zidane’s on the other side attempting to break it down.

That’s Mikoto at the moment.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

      How literate were these Gaian’s anyways? She couldn’t recall seeing a school system for them despite the library contained by nobles, which meant it was fair to assume that most of their ability to read was limited as it was.

Ascenders? Descenders?

     --- he’s talking about those parts of the letters that aren’t in line with everything else, isn’t he? How on earth are letters ‘beautiful?’ It’d be fine if they were legible and half of those curls and wavy marks were difficult to read at times.

    She opened the book, squinting at the letters, and wrote one clear line in their old language:

Currently he was holding a book on several spells, one he had already poured over once in the past, trying to find a particular page he recalled but couldn’t quite remember the details off - including which book it was in. This one seemed to be a blank as well in that regard, hmm…

“Mmhm? Oh, thank you. I shall take a look right away.”

Putting down the book he held, he took the one the genome held out to him, promptly proceeding to flip through the pages. Hmm… yes, this could be it… But while he scoured the pages in search of the one he recalled, he could not help but have his thoughts wander to the young woman sitting on the empty shelf, and her motivations. Why had she been eager to help him, of all people?

“…uhm, Miss Mikoto…? Forgive me for asking this, but… How come one as extraordinary such as yourself is fine sitting here with me? I doubt watching me read in old books is all that entertaining for you…”

“It is not entertaining for me,” she admits freely, not at all sparing the young man’s feelings. “However, it’s not as though I am watching you read.” The books before and all around her were proof of that.

Her nose was even in a book as she spoke!

She flipped to the next page. Finding nothing relevant to their topic, she closed the book and placed it back onto the shelf. “Neither am I “sitting” here with you.” After all, she was still on the shelf, away from the ground and the layers of books that piled themselves on the desk where the burmecian stayed.
