Iwaizumi Hajime
5 days. Less than a week. This weekend was your birthday, and Iwaizumi was so excited to celebrate and take you out. He had everything planned. He wasn’t keeping the whole thing a secret. He wanted you to know what to plan for and to be excited for what was planned and to be even more surprised and happy with the surprise events planned for the weekend. Five days. That’s all you both had to get through.
The week started off well. Iwaizumi could tell you were excited and couldn’t stop talking a mile a minute. The excited gleam in your eyes, and the happy grin was enough to have him staring at you in wonder. You were always so happy and easily excited. Nothing seemed to be able to shake you. And with your birthday coming up you were even more excitable and cheery.
However, as the days went on, the gleam in your eyes was fading, and the smile on your face went from sincere to fake, to barely even there. Iwaizumi wondered if he had done anything to upset you, but you never seemed upset with him. Just distant. He gave you your space, but decided to confront you about whatever was going on when you blew him off after school the Friday afternoon before your weekend out.
Cutting practice, he ran the entire way to your house, knowing you would be the only one home at this time of day. Letting himself in, it was obvious you weren’t expecting anyone, so the entire place was dark and quiet, your shoes and bag thrown against the wall. “F/N? where are you?” he called out. With no reply he made his way to your room, only to hear what sounded like crying coming from your room.
“F/N? What’s going on? Why are you crying? Is everything okay?” he would ask, instantly coming over and sitting on the edge of your bed.
Sniffling, you wiped your eyes and refused to look up at your boyfriend “It’s nothing. I’m okay.” you said.
Iwaizumi frowned not buying it “you gonna tell me or am I gonna have to start asking around for who hurt my girl?”
Shaking your head you looked up at him “It wouldn’t do anything…it’s a group of girls in my class..they are nasty and it doesn’t matter what you say or who you are. They don’t have a care in the world for anyone who tells them to stop.” you explained defeated.
Iwaizumi pulled you into his arms “Well I could still say something. I can’t just do nothing.”
Leaning into his embrace you let out a sigh “maybe just doing what you are doing right now will help.”
Iwaizumi looked down at you before sighing himself “alright fine. I guess I will just have to be extra comforting if you don’t want me to say anything to them.” He made himself more comfortable on your bed, grabbing a few pillows and pulled you to lay across his chest.
Iwaizumi was determined to make this weekend the best ever, including many cuddle sessions while out and about, making sure to check on you and do everything to keep you 110% happy.
And when the weekend was over and it was back to school, Iwaizumi kept his promise not to confront the bully girls…but he may have enlisted his best friends for some help in humiliating them. Turns out the group of girls ended up being big supporters of the volleyball team, and they weren’t very confident and cruel after a few comments from the team in passing. In fact, it was a very great way to end the bullying all together.
Kuroo Tetsurou
“You ready to move on to the next shop F/N?” Your tall, dark haired boyfriend asked looking down at you.
Nodding, you take his hand and pull him out of the current store you were in. “Come on. Let’s go to that Entertainment store that Kenma always wants to go to. They have some pretty fun stuff.” you say grinning and heading that way.
It was a 4 day weekend and Kuroo had agreed to spend part of the day out at the mall with you, as long as he got to pick what you did that evening. But to be honest, he didn’t hate shopping. He enjoyed watching you trying on clothes, because everything you put on was cute to him in some way. Even when you pouted and disagreed with him. That was even cute to him. He had noticed that you were struggling throughout the week so Kuroo decided to let you plan out your weekend together.
And it seemed to be working so far. You were smiling, laughing, happy to be out doing things together. Just like you normally were. You even quipped back at him when he made teasing comments. So he knew this trip was working. Kuroo looked down at you as you tightened your grip on his arm “you alright?” he asked, but was quickly distracted at the sound of female laughter up ahead. Looking up, he recognized a group of girls from school. Girls he knew were in your class at school. “Hey, aren’t those girls in your class? Let’s say hi as we go by.” Kuroo said dragging you along much to your slight protests.
You despised those girls. They were nothing but self centered brats that put up a front whenever a cute boy was around. Especially boys in sports clubs. They took a particular liking to the third year captain of the volleyball club as well, and that didn’t make it any better for you unfortunately.
“Is that F/N chan? And Kuroo-Chan? Wow. How cute! Are you two out on a date or something?” one of the girls asked, instantly bee lining over to the two of you.
“Yeah. We’re out doing some shopping, spending the day at the mall and all that. I think we’ll go out for some dinner tonight too.” Kuroo easily conversed with the girls. You knew they were being fake. At least towards you, they genuinely were trying to gain his attention, but the way Kuroo kept his hand wrapped around your own made you feel better. Mostly because you knew it bothered them for some reason.
After passing by them, the two of you made your way into the entertainment store, and then decided to go to a few more stores, ultimately ending up trying on clothes again. Kuroo had tried on a few items himself, but he was done and sitting in a chair outside of the changing area waiting for you to finish. You came out with a few items in your hands “the rack in their is overflowing with clothes, so I’m just gonna take these back really quick. It’s just around the corner so I’ll be right back.” you said before going off into the clothes.
Kuroo relaxed again, content on snoozing in the chair until you came back. It was almost 15 minutes later when he realized you hadn’t returned yet. Pulling himself out of the chair, Kuroo made his way in the direction he had last saw you in. He didn’t see you right away, however, he did begin to hear voices around the corner behind the changing area. Voices he recognized. Peeking his head around the corner he saw the girls from earlier crowding around someone, saying really unpleasant things. Things he wouldn’t have expected from them. They seemed so nice.
“Really? You actually think trying on clothes and changing your look is going to make you look even better?”
“It’s not going to change the way you look when you stand next to him. I’ll never understand how or what he sees in you. He’s this tall, dark and handsome guy, and you? Well you aren’t exactly a pretty little thing are you?”
Blood boiling, Kuroo strained to see who they dare say those things to. It didn’t matter who it was, just the fact they could think of saying such harsh things to someone had him wanting to say something. Seeing the familiar H/C locks and the oversized red nekoma sweatshirt that belonged to him, Kuroo felt the air leave him. It was you! His precious, kind hearted, girlfriend they were saying such things to! Before he could get a word in, you broke down in tears, pushing your way through the girls before they could say anything, and ran right into him.
“K-Kuroo? What are you doing here?” you sniffled, surprise clear in your tear filled eyes.
Raising his eyes to look at the group of girls who looked like tiny, frightened deer caught in headlights, He spoke coolly “I was wondering what was taking you so long to come back, but now I know you had been caught up in some trash. Let’s go F/N….this place is starting to stink”
And with that, Kuroo turned you, wrapping his arms around you, and lead you away from the girls and out of the store. The two of you were quiet as he walked out of the store and headed towards your home. You didn’t know what to do or say, you couldn’t believe he had seen that. It had been going on for so long and you were sure he was going to reprimand you for letting those girls say such things without saying anything back to them. But you didn’t have the courage or confidence to confront them. It was probably why they bullied you the most. You were a simple, easy target.
You thought Kuroo was just going to say goodnight and go home, leaving you to your worries, but he let himself into the house like he lived there and pulled you down the hall to your room. Dropping the bags on the floor, he turned and looked at you with a sigh “F./N, how long has this been going on?”
Shuffling your feet, you looked down and shrugged ‘since we started dating…maybe a little before that…” you closed your eyes, expecting him to blow up.
But what you didn’t expect, was for his long strong arms to wrap around you, pulling you into his chest “I’m so sorry. You had that kept inside all to yourself all of this time and were suffering alone? Never again. I don’t know if my words today did any good to get those girls to stop, but I will be here. 100% of the time to help you get through it. okay?” he murmered into the top of your head, peppering you with kisses between words.
“And one more thing F/N…” he paused, tilting your head to look up into his eyes. “You are the most beautiful person I have ever met in my entire life and will ever meet as well. No one else could ever compare. And If I need to spend every day reminding you of this, don’t you worry because I will. I’ll do it until you stop believing the words those girls say and start believing the words that come from your dorky boyfriend who only wants to see you smiling and happy like you were this morning.” he finished, leaning down and kissing you softly. “Don’t forget that. Because then I’ll have to do something to make you remember.”
You giggled into the kiss already feeling a bit better “Like what?”
“I dont know, but it will probably involve endless tickling and making you laugh until you cry from laughing so much.” he said grinning mischeviously.
Suddenly the tears that were falling from your eyes had nothing to do with those bully girls from earlier. It all had to do with Kuroo, just being himself and making your world that much better day by day.
