Antonin Dolohov

“Oh, I absolutely am. I mean, it’s my face, and all.” She thought for a moment. “I think we’ve hit that point in the evening where I should switch to whiskey, so a nice scotch will do.”

“Of course,” He replied, getting her the drink. “What have you been doing recently, then?”

“Maybe even too long?” The blonde replies smirking. 

“Eh, you’re not so bad.”

“It’s always been one of my strong points. The hat suggested putting me in Ravenclaw, but I guess I was just too much of a bitch.” She laughed. “So, champagne? Or are we going for something a little harder?”

“If the hat even attempted to put me anywhere else, it would’ve been malfunctioning. I wasn’t made for any other house.” Antonin shrugged, “Whatever the lady wants.”

“Well, you have the charm and observational skills, I am sure. I think you rather enjoy it too,” she smiled softly. “Thank you for the drink.”

“Of course I do.” Antonin nodded, “It’s fine, no worries.”

“That’s just the way I look: I have resting I-need-a-drink face,” said Mary, grinning a little. “But I do.”

“I’m not too sure about that. What would you like?”

“And why is that?” 

“I’ve known you for a long time.”

“And how is that going? It must be wonderful to be within the Minister’s inner circle.” A smile aligned her soft features, showing how truly interested she was. “I would like something strong, a whiskey perhaps?”

“Fine, I’m having no problems doing it. It was meant to be, Ms Malfoy.” Antonin nodded, gesturing to the bartender and getting them both a whiskey.

“I’m surprised you expected anything else, especially coming from me.”

“True. You've always been pretty witty.”

“Maybe. Buy me one and we’ll find out.”

“Clever, Vanity. Very clever.”

“You read my mind Ant.”

“I don’t mean to sound rude but I was expecting that answer.”

Running a hand over her temple, Locasta sighed softly. At the offer of a drink, her expression brightened. “Very well done. You get to choose a prize for your observational skills.” Her reaction was genuine for a change as she wasn’t in the mood for sarcasm.

“If my observational skills weren’t good, I certainly wouldn’t have made it where I have in the Ministry. What would the lady like?”

“ well what the fuck are we waiting for, dolohov? the liquor is calling out loud. “

“I was waiting for you to stop ogling at that blonde over there. Seemed you were almost in a trance.”

Molly happened to be passing by on her way to find the other Order members when she heard this, and scoffed. “Typical government response. Tell us something we don’t know, why don’t you?”

Antonin shrugged, “Sorry, Mrs Weasley. Unfortunately things never move as quickly as you want. Plus, we have more important things to sort out now.”

She smirked back and replied in an overly false tone “I think I’m fine, thank you Dolohov.” She cast a glance around and spoke again in a hushed voice. “I don’t think that could have gone any better.” 

“Well, you better leave soon. Wouldn’t want anyone else getting hurt.” The male nodded, “Apparently Amycus’ fiance got injured so he’s not so happy right now.”

“ nevermind that, i want to know who it was that harmed my fiancee, did you happen to see anything?!” 

“No, mate. I’ve been sorting out some other things. Is Persephone alright?”

“Tell them to back off.” She snapped, somewhat frantic after everything had happened. All Mona wanted, was to lock herself in her apartment where she could feel safe. Why couldn’t anyone understand that? “Surely they have dead people they could be looking after instead.” She goes to push her hair away from her face, but stops when she touches something warm, realises its the blood and grimaces. 

Knowing he was stuck acting like the technical official he now was, he waved away the healers, eyeing the cut. “It doesn’t look too deep, you may just have a headache or something. Is that the only place that hurts?”
