this is ridiculous.

And i questioned that.

"How would longer sentences prevent fentanyl addiction and sales?" No answer

"How would longer sentences make a person less likely to return to drug sales in the future?" No answer

"Shouldn't we focus on the systems that make fentanyl attractive to begin with? Like poverty reduction, education, and affordable addiction treatment centers?" Confused looks, followed by an "i guess so..."

"Wouldn't it be better to focus our money on sustainable community development so fentanyl never even becomes an option?" Ears perk up

97% of offenders eventually leave incarceration. Shouldn't we spend money on helping them leave as better people instead of wasting money locking them in a box where their lives only get worse???"
