i am so tired of the bisexual discourse ive been seeing this pride month and the months leading up to it. being in a seemingly straight relationship does not make anybody less queer. being attracted to men does not make anybody less queer.

the joy of being bisexual is being attracted to and loving all genders. that includes men and that includes a bisexual being in what society sees to be a straight relationship.

i am not defending those who harm the lesbian and trans community. they deserve to be called out and their behavior to be questioned.

i am however saying that the continuous hatred and belittlement of the bisexual community for "being in straight relationships" is beyond frustrating and harmful.

i am a bisexual cis woman dating a bisexual cis man. people will take that as an opportunity to say that neither of us deserve to celebrate pride. our attractions to each other and other people are queer and will always be queer.

we should not have to prove our queerness to be queer.

this pride month take a moment to reflect on your prejudices and stereotypes of bisexual people. think before you make generalized statements. we are here and deserve to be here.
