shells on a beach

maybe a power outage. but your lamp worked fine in your room?

you make your way down the stairs to the main lobby of the dorms. still dark, and .... not a sign of life. where is everyone? it’s... you look up at a clock, which is working at least. it’s noon. everyone should be up already, even on a saturday!

you start to panic. is this a nightmare? it’s so dark, and kinda cold... you pull your jacket tight around you.

FROM BEHIND  her , the anthropologist meanders over , placing a   deck of cards    upon angie’s desk. the cards are adorned with motifs of the sky    &&   various laces , patterns,   &&    sun paraphernalia.

as if she can sense him, she sits up, awaiting politely. when the cards are placed on her desk, her hands clasp in front of her, and she gives a breathy laugh.
