“It is.” Ryan smiled and ran their fingers through Adam’s hair. “Sodomy is punishable by death.”

“Stop saying that, it fucking freaks me out.” She contained her laughter, covering her face. “I’m going to get a crucifix and exorcise the demon out of you then, someone’s gotta fucking do it, for the sake of this town and your poor boyfriend as well. What if you’re really like.. a ghost or something?”

“I’m sorry! I can’t change who I am.” They smiled and bit their lip. “My boyfriend likes it. As long as I promise not to do anything scary in his house. I’m not a ghost, trust me. You can hold my arm or something if it’ll convince you.”

“It’s because I like to be the instigator. You should know that by now. And also, because sometimes the fucking ghosts won’t shut up, or my brain’s misbehaving. There’s many factors we have to take into consideration, Adam.”

“I don’t drink, it’ll fuck me up. I’m not trying, the devil just comes to me. Kidding, I’d have to call him if I wanted to talk to him.” They chuckled and twisted a curl around their finger. “How do you know I’m not already one of them? Her stories could have been about me, you know.”

“You’re not supposed to mess with Ouija boards, love. People are fucking messed up already, don’t you know? Personally I’m an advocate for leaving the spirits alone, I don’t want need a goddamn spirit to know I’m going to rot in hell anyways, so..”

“I would love to leave them be, but they won’t leave me alone. They’re always talking to me. At least I know how to deal with a Ouija board properly, right? I’ve seen things where people make ridiculous mistakes and it’s honestly really embarrassing.”

Shannon winced and chuckled at the slap to his head, batting Ryan’s hands away, “I said after we wipe each others asses. You need the bond first or else it won’t work. But I would prefer not to think or feel about that sensation when I’m working around children. So best leave the twin sense thing to others.” Shannon watched the others reaction, nodding slowly with a shrug, “Yeah. My parents adopted me when I was just a baby. You’re asking me? I thought maybe we came from England and you’d have all the answers.”

“I had to test it first!” Ryan laughed softly and rubbed their face. “Hopefully we’re not a product of incest or rape or something. That’d be shit. You know what? I’d rather not know who our real parents are. Just in case it is something horrible like that.” They sighed softly and dropped their head. “We’re a mystery. We should have our own show on TLC.”

“Is that what’s going to solidify this weird bond we have? Maybe if we wipe each others asses, we’ll get that twin sense you always hear about. So an itch on your nose will result in me scratching mine, or what ever the fuck. It’s got to be equal though! Equality among twins. Well, I’m adopted, so. Who knows. Maybe she was. It wouldn’t surprise me. Except I was thinking something a bit more classier than meth. Black tar heroin or something.”

“Well, here, let’s see if it works now,” Ryan said, reaching a hand out and smacking Shannon on the side of the head. “Nope, nothing. At least you won’t feel it when there’s a dick in my ass while you’re at work, right?” Ryan laughed and raised their brows. “Really? Where the hell are we from? What the fuck is this?”

“Wiping someone’s ass creates a deeper bond? If that’s the case then we’re never as close to people as we are when we’re in diapers during the very first stages of life and the very last, I guess. That’s something to think about, isn’t it? You ever wonder if maybe our mother just didn’t have those maternal instincts? Maybe two was just too much.”

“Apparently. Wipe my ass, Shannon, tell me how you feel,” they said, laughing. “I figure it was because I was born epileptic or something and they were afraid of breaking me. Originally I thought it was because my mom was a meth head, but... I guess that’s not true.”
