there is no point in reminiscing. rosette simply has drilled, still drills, it onto her mind that remnants of childhood years are better buried. that any trace of warmth naivety had her believe in, even for awhile, should be kept neatly where she thinks it suits them best. away. away from her. just so she wouldn’t have to feel the need to feel them all again as if she should. but how so when lilting reminders constantly come in human form and wasteland is painstakingly small she just has to be barbarically pushed into the corner forced to face the very same things she ought to be dead? foolish fairytales, kindness, and lest she forget - lionel.

“what a damned place.” she mumbles through gritted teeth, her eyes darting from one page to another even when the countless spells clearly cross her mind and barely clings. if anything, the thought of losing her drive over mundane souls like him - akin to the fools mother dearest always say in her stories - frustrates her even more that it impels her to stand up from the cold tiles of the lonesome manor’s library to take a break. 

the night sky stretches before her as she walks towards the various epitaphs surrounding the place. in actuality, she thinks it is nonsensical to do such a thing: to fit years lived by someone in words clumsily put together by people who may never know the vastness of their being. it doesn’t take her long enough to spot the one who shares the same name as her.
