i’ve seen rots in theaters twice now and i cannot stop thinking about how the jedi order are stuck no matter what they do, not just in that movie but in a broad sense. if they don’t tie themselves to the republic, they have no resources to help people who need it. if they do tie themselves to the republic, then they’re limited to republic jurisdiction. if they went around on their own doing what they thought was right, then they’re arrogantly enforcing their will. if they stick to republic mandate, they become lapdogs who don’t care about everyday people. if they storm into the senate to try and take power away from the sith lord, they’re a bunch of warrior cultists trying to greedily take power. if they let it happen, they’re fascist enablers. they’re so arrogant, but also any jedi that doesn’t just do whatever they want and “follows the rules” is a senate bootlicker. if they fight in the war they’re hypocrites losing their way, but if they sit it out they’re a bunch of hypocrites (again) in their ivory tower while people suffer. do the jedi and the council make mistakes, sure! but also like- what are they supposed to do? there’s never an easy right answer to almost any situation they’re in, and they just have to do the best with what they’ve got

You know, I do continually find it odd how people on this site will associate kinks and sexuality they dont like with whiteness. Like there is absolutely stuff to unpack with how kink interfaces with race as a subset of how the socially constructed category of race influences everything but I dont think that's "no black person would ever like this kink" like I just don't think thats true

It's a weird repressive fantasy that perversion is a unique "disease" of people who have too much time on their hands, to be unsatisfied with the simple things, which, of course, the oppressed classes of people are unilaterally content with, because in their ignominy they lack desire and their oppression is their emotional identity. They pretty obviously were hoping for a story where the character would turn to the screen and say "I am going to turn evil now BECAUSE I am a Jedi. The inherently Bad culture and practices of being a Jedi have led to their natural conclusion, where I am ontologically evil because of the Bad twisted Jedi way, not because I am consumed by my own darkness"

You know how in sex scenes there’s a series of close ups of body parts? Like erotic glimpses of the back or throat or hands etc? Yeah that but it’s the montage of Frankenstein building the Creature.
