DONTS:

🍎 DONT yell at them when they’re regressing,

🍎 DONT laugh at them or make fun of anything they do in little space,

🍎 DONT take away stuffies, pacis, blankets or comfort items as a punishment,

🍎 DONT point out flaws whatsoever,

🍎 DONT continue doing something that makes them uncomfortable,

🍎 DONT yell at them for regressing because you’re busy/not in the mood,

🍎 DONT call them immature for regressing,

🍎 DONT force them to do anything they don’t want to do,

🍎 DONT ignore them as a punishment,

🍎 DONT make fun of cartoons or movies they watch when regressing,

🍎 DONT make them feel stupid for regressing,

It’s a sense of euphoria where literally all of my stress and anxiety just washes away. I feel dizzy and lightheaded and so incredibly happy. I feel calm when I drink out of a bottle or use a paci. I feel small and helpless but in a good way because it’s on my terms and not someone else’s. I feel innocent, something that I thought was gone forever. My mistakes aren’t here and I’m made anew. I dont feel lonely because all my stuffies are my closest friends in the galaxy. I believe in fairies and chase unicorns at the end of rainbows. Littlespace means everything to me and I think I wouldn’t be able to go on if it was taken from me.

Stay little. Don’t change for anyone. This is who you are and that’s special.

This post is for worried or ashamed littles like I once was.

A step by step guide to slowly regress yourself. So easy that I can do it– and that’s saying a lot. This requires no critical thinking, excessive effort or annoyingly long item lists. All you need is yourself, a sensory safe place and no distractions.

Some items you may consider:

A stuffed animal or two. Or three. Or one hundred. Up to you!

A soft blanket that you’re comfortable laying under. I prefer blankets that are bigger than throw blankets since they provide more coverage.

A pillow or pillows. I sleep on two, but I sleep with six. The more the merrier in my opinion!

Some soft music that isn’t adult themed (no swear words and no inappropriate lyrics). I’d recommend nothing with a high BPM.

A nice scent like vanilla or lavender. I personally like food scents more than floral.

A children’s TV show on a suitable volume. Anything will do so long as it’s meant for children.

Regression gear. Pacifiers, bottles, toys and/or clothing can help during this time. It also helps to have something after you’re regressed, like coloring books or a video game!

Requirements:

A place you can think properly with minimal noises and distractions.

You should use the restroom if you haven’t already because it interferes with relaxing.

You should also eat a bit of something if you’re extra hungry or haven’t eaten anything all day. Drinks also recommended.

Make sure the temperature is at something that is comfortable! Nothing too hot, nothing too cold.

That’s it!

Steps (these can be done in or out of order):

Stabilize your breathing and make sure you’re not panicking. You don’t have to take more than three or four deep breaths in and out to get it stabilized again. If you do, that’s okay, keep breathing until it’s normal again.

Close your eyes for just a minute and take in everything around you– sounds and smells in particular. Get yourself nice and grounded in the present moment. It helps your thoughts quit racing.

Try not to visualize yourself too young super quick. Slowly bring yourself down to your normal regression age– start with your teens, then tweens, then single digits. Sometimes this process takes me over an hour in order to properly regress, but yours may be shorter.

Try to set gentle, nonrestrictive rules for yourself. Try no swearing, no bad talking yourself or no thinking about adult activities (jobs, relationships, taxes, bills, etc.) for the moment.

If I end up falling asleep I always seem to wake up a little more regressed than I was previously. Don’t worry if this happens– your body probably needed the rest.

Repeat steps until comfortably regressed!
