reality no longer awaits.
the misfortune of the album being delayed pushed this reveal back much further than i'd initially intended. my original plan, based on convenience, was to pull back the velvet curtains, let the cat out of the bag, the day after i went to my first (and likely only) strokes concert, dated for the day right after the album was released. i was stoked. thrilled.
two weeks before that day, as you know, the album was pushed back to today, bringing so much unneeded panic, even from myself. i mean, come on, the only thing i really needed to worry about was if nick was going to be at my concert.
(he wasn't. and he's still missing in action. i'm so sad.)
i made this blog the near instant this album was announced. realityawaits, with no dash, was already taken, so i took the next best thing (and it's honestly better like this, because it's a bit more readable in a hurry). i didn't intend for this to be a gimmick blog, really. i just wanted to garner excitement for the first strokes album i'd experience the release for. but creativity struck, and the reality awaits/horseguy/julian imitation persona just happened...
basically, this blog is run by @worldrusher . me. gavin. hi! guy who met fab and showed him its art. has been the whole time. i've been paranoid the entire time i've played this character of sorts of accidentally exposing myself through a fast reblog to the wrong account or liking a comment out of habit, so thank you to the 3? people who knew and really aren't active enough on tumblr to blow my cover anyway.
i really had no true expectations for this blog's popularity. it grew as about as much as would have been expected for some cryptic strokes/horses superfan who spoke in a julian-esque lilt with sporadic italics and colors. i want to thank you all for the support, as dumb as it sounds to do so. i found it very funny how much it surged in popularity less than a week before the albuml, when the months before were honestly a bit dry. i had to send myself asks!!
i'm not getting rid of this blog. i'll keep it active for as long as any sort of new content appears for the album and i keep getting notes. it will, of course, fade into obscurity and inactivity at some point in the future, when no more information needs to be said and no more asks need to be sent, but i will forever keep it open.
