Someone said to Sayyidunā Sahl al-Tustarī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه, “Thieves broke into my house and stole my belongings.” He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه replied, “Be thankful to Allah Almighty! What would you do if the Devil entered your heart and corrupted your faith?” Similarly, a pious man رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه was walking along the road when a tray of ashes fell upon his head. In response, the pious man performed a prostration of gratitude in the court of Allah Almighty. When he asked the reason for doing so, he responded, “I was waiting for the fire to consume me, but it is a blessing that ashes were put in its place.

When you are grateful to Allah Almighty, He will increase His blessings upon you اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه

Maulana Rumi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه states:

A life lived in praise of the prophet ﷺ is the most successful life than any king who has a mountain of gold.

Keep in mind that this world, which you so desperately desire and work so hard to achieve, and which occasionally irritates and delights you so much, is neither your home nor a final resting place. You weren't made for it, and you weren't even invited to use it as your final resting place. You won't live in it forever, nor will it live inside of you forever. If it has lured you away with its charms, it has also forewarned and forewarned you of true dangers hiding within its folds. Pay attention to the cautions it has issued and resist the urge to succumb to temptation or be duped by it. Let these cautions scare you away from wanting it too badly.
