      She was indeed immortal, then; like a lot of YOUNG GODS, she was FEARFUL of her elders.

      Hermes arched one brow. “ WHO?  You mean, you haven’t guessed? “ Said with a playful lilt, but he had thought the WINGED boots & cap should have given him away at once ( she was merely suspended, perhaps, in AWE and DISBELIEF ). 

      “ I have only come to you by FATE, it seems. But being that you feel such TERROR in my presence, I will tell you that you have no reason for it. I know what you have done, but it is no concern of MINE, you see. “

      Cela still felt that FLUTTERING  ,  fearful beat of her heart  ,  pounding a tattoo on the inside of her rib cage like a captive bird  .    It took too long for her to realize who it was that was speaking  ,  her surprise  --  her FEAR  --  having taken over too much  .    The winged sandals  ,  the cap  ...  Hermes  .  

      She felt RELIEF then  ,  knowing that he was  --  though perhaps not BENEVOLENT  --  at least not directly VENGEFUL  .    There was no real danger today  ,  she was SAFE for a little longer  ,  able to keep her immortal form  .    She knew she shouldn’t have worried so much  ,  if Hades had yet to come for her  --  maybe she had even gotten away with it  .    ( Her THEFT of immortality  .  )    

He hadn’t even taken note of her presence before she’d shattered                his silence. “Ah –” He paused, “you must not be from here.” 

      She had gotten over the FEAR a long time ago  ,  and now sea air was just a salty taste on her tongue and a chill breeze off the water  .
