A major component of an abusive relationship is power, as in, the abuser has all of it and the abused has none. And a significant abuse tactic is isolation, in which the abused is forced to be dependent upon the abuser and cut off from the rest of the world, with no resources and no alternative options.

Obviously, this isn't true. The difference between the concept of cultural appropriation and conservative xenophobia is that the concept of cultural appropriation is based around the idea that consent and boundaries matter.

Pillaging people's stuff does not promote social harmony. Stealing is not welcoming. Telling marginalized people they're wrong about what boundaries they're allowed to set is in fact hostile behavior.
