ara-bella-walterâ:
âItâs alright.â Because it was. Bella knew that Wolfie was on edge and didnât take a single bit of offense by the snapping. All weres were a little on edge just then, some kept their temper in check but some, especially when they tried to fight it? Well, she had seen them snap before. Some even got violent- but usually those people had a predisposition for it. Wolfie, however, she knew didnât have that.
One thing she knew she didnât have to worry about was him getting violent. He was too kind for that. Language was one thing but despite his size and strength? She knew she was in absolutely no danger.
âYou are just stressing yourself out, my friend,â she soothed. âI know you like to keep yourself busy but there are times when you need a breather. And this may be one of them.â
He had to calm himself down again, digging his nails deeper into the meat of his palm, unconcerned by the fact that theyâd leave crescent moon shaped cuts in their wake. Theyâd heal fairly quickly thanks to his weretiger constitution, but the sting gave him something to focus on. If Wolfie could just focus, heâd be able to get himself together enough to begrudgingly take Bellaâs advice and head home. There heâd deal with the rest of the nasty side effects that come with spending heats alone.Â
âWalk with me?â The weretiger asked after a few moments of silence. Heâd deemed himself calm enough to rush off to his apartment but he really didnât want to do it alone. Even though he knew heâd still be by himself at the end of the day, a few more minutes with Bella would make him feel a bit less like he was walking himself to his own self-enforced imprisonment.Â
ara-bella-walterâ:
âWhy torture yourself like this? I may not know what it feels like but Iâve been in town my whole life. Iâve seen how bad this can get for people.â In truth, Bella felt a little lucky that she never had to go through that. As often as she lamented that being anything but human would make it easy for her to know who he could tell what to in town because sheâd have her own built-in supernatural beacon? She was glad she had never had to experience heat.
She would definitely go crazy.
âIf youâre worried about the restaurant, Iâm sure itâll be fine,â she tried to reassure him âAnd you have plenty of friends around not going through this who Iâm sure would be willing to help out to keep things running smoothly until youâre back to, well, for lack of a better term- normal.â
âI donât know!â Wolfie snapped, digging his nails further into the palms of his hands until he could feel the skin give under the pressure. It didnât hurt, not that much, and it would heal in minutes but it said wonders about how well he was holding things together.Â
Shock and guilt followed immediately after his harsh words, hitting him like a ton of bricks and etching themselves across his face. His wide eyes held Bellaâs gaze for a moment before darting away, focusing on the sign across the street for discount tires. âFuck, I donât know. Iâm sorry, I didnât mean...âÂ
Why couldnât he hold it together any longer? He was cursing for goodness sake. Maybe it was the fact that Bella was giving him permission to let go?Â
God, he hated his heat.Â
ara-bella-walterâ:
âYou ready to give up and go home yet, Wolfie?â
Bella had been watching him. Not to be strange or creepy in any way. It was simply because she knew that the man was a were and seeing a were when the town was in heat actually working? Oh, well, that was a rarity in and of itself. She had been in own her whole life, had known about the supernatural that whole time. She had seen weres go through heat before and usually they hid as best as they could. None of them wanted to try to focus on the real world when their own bodies were rebelling against them. Even back in high school that was the case.
âYouâre pushing yourself too hard, Wolfie,â the human said after a moment, head cocking slightly to the side as she gazed at the weretiger. âI know how dedicated you are to the restaurant but youâre just making yourself suffer for no reason. Everyone would understand if you went home and tried to deal with everything far away from here, my friend.â
Wolfie just sighed, avoiding Bellaâs gaze.
He knew she was right, she knew she was right, it was only a matter of him accepting the facts and hightailing it out of there to go deal with himself for the next few days. He just couldnât bring himself to do it, he couldnât leave his restaurant just because he wasnât feeling so hot. Heats were a part of life and heâd had to deal with them for years, he just wanted to prevail for once. He wanted to win against the unyielding pull of his body, he wanted to do what he loved most despite the frustration and anxiety.Â
âI canât, Bella. I should but I canât. I...I canât explain it in a way that makes any sense, not even to myself, but I canât.âÂ
nova-almeidaâ:
âTaking advantage of the good weather, Falkowski?â Nova teased the fellow werecat. They may not have been the same breed of were but cats were more rare than their wolf counterparts so every time she met another feline? She was always happy to know them, found some kind of comradery in them. The town itself was comforting in itself as they knew that they could mostly be themselves but it was nice to be able to know others like themselves.
âI donât often see you outside of your restaurant. Donât tell me the workaholic himself is slacking?â she teased.
âYou know I couldnât let it go to waste, Almeida.â He laughed, brushing his sweaty hair back out of his face. These were the kind of interactions he lived for, the kind he wouldnât have been able to find as easily in a big city. Wolfie loved the sense of community that came with establishing himself in a small town - especially one chock full of the supernatural. Despite being so small, it was easy to find people like himself, people who could relate to and share the world from the eyes of a werecat.Â
"Me? Never. You know what they say - âainât no rest for the wicked.ââ Wolfgang joked right back, used to people teasing him about his tendency to take on a lot at once. As long as it made them smile and he finished what he needed to, he was happy.Â
âSpeaking of - whatâs got you out and about so early? I donât usually see you on my morning runs.âÂ

Wolfie hated heats, and he wasnât the type to hate things. No, he saved the word for very specific, very horrible things he could describe no other way. Heats meant he spent days uncomfortably warm, anxious, grouchy, and sexually frustrated - it wasnât the best state to run a successful business in, but heâd always been uncompromisingly determined when it came to his restaurant. So, he took a frigid shower in the morning, popped a few aspirin, and headed into work with a smile on his face.
Midway through the day, things were not going well. His smile was forced and unconvincing, his sweat stuck his shirt to him in really uncomfortable ways, and he was just about done with the anxiety that bubbled in his chest for no reason. Wolfie - being the workaholic he was - decided against heading home for the day and instead took a short break out front, leaning against the restaurant and letting the cool air send refreshing shivers down his spine.Â
But even with the breeze, he didnât stay cool for long.
Letting his head fall back against the brick of the storefront, Wolfgang sighed, digging his nails into the palms of his hands in a half-assed attempt to keep his mind off his real frustration - unshakable sexual desire. It was getting harder and harder to ignore, to push to the back of his head, and he knew deep down heâd have to leave early if he wanted to save himself from shame and embarrassment.
God, he hated his heats.Â
hal-monroeâ:
Hal laughed, waving his coffee mug to Wolfgang briefly before taking a sip of it. âTrue, true. I guess youâre a grown man too. Not some teenager.â He said into his cup. He shifted, âYouâre right- the weather is getting real nice out here. Your ma already put in an order- she gets so excited with those flowers. When you see her, let her know that itâll be delivered by the end of next week.â He said with a smile.Â
âSo they tell me. Still not sure when that happened,â Wolfie laughed, settling his hands on his hips. âIâll be sure to let her know, Hal. Thanks, by the way, for making her smile.â If there was one thing the weretiger wanted most, it was to make his mom happy. She always did so much for him, for everyone, and never asked for anything in return. He made it his job to do the same for her.Â
âOh! I hope you like pie. Sheâs decided to start thanking people with baked goods again and youâre first on the list.âÂ
hal-monroeâ:
Hal had always been an early riser- and a night owl- and a pretty much everything in-betweener- but he never expected to see others out, when he was up early. Still clad in pajama bottoms and shirtless, heâd made his way out to the mailbox, coffee in hand, and was surprised to see Wolfgang outside, already up and working out. He offered the younger man a smile, leaning against the mail box.Â
âUp and running already, Wolfgang? I thought you young fucks liked to sleep in.â He said, teasing tone heavy in his voice.Â
âI think youâre forgetting that this young fuck has a business to run,â Wolfie laughed, shaking his head. Hal was a friend, not a super close one, but a friend nonetheless. His mother liked the flowers he sold and, more often than not, they ended up decoration Holy Smokes to whatever extent she desired. In the spring she got extra crazy with them, something about bringing the feeling of ânew beginningsâ indoors for the customers, and he didnât question it. She was better with those kinds of things than he was, and in the end, it always ended up feeling like him. âBesides, itâs real nice out this morning. I couldnât let weather like this go to waste, not after the winter we had.âÂ
Maybe it was due to his weretiger genetics or perhaps it was just a personal thing, but heâd always enjoyed exercise and the satisfying rush of endorphins that came with it. As a rule of thumb, he put his own wants and needs behind those of others, but his morning run was something he let himself have. It was the quickest way to wake up and get going, especially when heâd had only a few hours of sleep, and it never failed to put him in a good mood - so he considered it a win-win.Â
Jogging his normal route, earbuds in place and his steady rhythm set, Wolfgang let the familiar scenery fly by with mind appreciation. Heâd never gotten over how beautiful East Stroudsburg was, not even after five years of living there, and probably never would even if he took the same path every day. There was always something new to see, something interesting to contemplate as he moved past, and someone pleasant to talk to whenever heâd run into them.Â
Even when heâd fallen into the perfect pace, his muscles burning pleasantly and the adrenaline heightening his senses, heâd break the whole thing to say hi to a friend. It was no different that morning, Wolfie had spotted a familiar face and gradually came to a stop to exchange pleasantries, sure to catch their eye before he did so in case they were otherwise occupied.
âHey! Long time no see, how are you?â The weretiger asked, taking a moment to catch his breath.Â

Hugo saw that little glance and bit his lip, feeling guilty. He knew that Wolfie probably though he was a drunk but he couldnât gather enough courage to tell him he wasnât. He didnât want to make matters worse (or what he felt was worse.) He could feel that pull once more. He wasnât sure how to feel about it. On one hand, he was happy Wolfie was probably his soulmate, but on the other⌠He felt awful since the man would have to put up with his depression and mood swings (though his mood swings donât happen to often, but when they do, theyâre major).
âItâs alright, it happens in all honestyâŚItâs weird, I was feeling fine earlier and then uh⌠I-I started overthinking everything in my life and now i just kind of.. Ended up here. Pathetic, huh?â He joked, an obviously self-depreciating one. âMaybe. Mom knows best, yeah?â At least that was the saying⌠Seeing the manâs smile melted his heart a bit and a wider smile began to appear on his face. Wolfgang was just too damn good at being too cute for his own good. âI-I um⌠I really appreciate all of this, Wolfie. I really do.â
âNot pathetic, no. Never pathetic.âÂ
Wolfgang knew it was meant as some kind of self-deprecating joke, something to turn Hugoâs discomfort into something more manageable, but he couldnât just play along with it - not when he was so obviously hurting. Heâd dealt with mood swings and depression before - his mother had been all over the place after she and his father had parted ways, even heâd been through a few rough patches - and the last thing he wanted to do was reinforce any negative feelings. Even if initially meant jokingly, the weretiger knew how quickly they could spiral.Â
âIf thereâs anything I believe in, itâs the power of my mama and her cooking,â he confirmed, his smile widening. Wolfie wanted to get Hugoâs mind off whatever had thrown him for a loop as soon as possible and the food was the best way he could think of, especially if the young man hadnât eaten recently (something heâd suspected as soon as the werewolf had opened the door.) He didnât know what compelled him to drop by Hugoâs house that afternoon, but he was grateful for whatever it was - helping people was what he lived for.Â
âDonât mention it...really. Thereâs nothing Iâd rather be doing.âÂ
sparrow-suthcliffâ:
It was almost entertaining hearing that, being thought of as someoneâs daughter when Sparrow herself was so often seen as peopleâs mother. True, with Wolfie it was definitely a friendship rather than a parent-child relationship but the point still remained. For a very single girl in her late twenties? Sparrow Suthcliff had a whole lot of people out there that considered her a mother figure- and it didnât bother her one tiny little bit.
âWell, Iâll definitely have to pop in and say âhelloâ while Iâm here.â The truth was she liked Wolfieâs mother. There was something warm and comforting about the woman, like she knew all of the worries and concerns a person might have and could make them all go away. Many times the witch had thought that her friend was exceedingly lucky to have been raised by such a wonderful and loving person. Not everyone was quite so lucky. âSo? Did I hit the nail on the head? Are you running yourself down to empty as usual?â From anyone else it might have sounded judgmental but when Sparrow said it? It was filled with nothing more than concern.
âPerfect, sheâll love that,â he beamed, leaning forward on the counter so that his weight rested on his elbows. Like this, Wolfie was almost eye-to-eye with Sparrow, which was nice yet strangely intimate since he usually towered over her by at least a foot. The weretiger was always amazed by the warmth and love Sparrow managed to display for nearly everyone in the town, he could see why sheâd been dubbed âtown momâ - her energy reminded him of his own motherâs. Maybe thatâs why he liked her so much.Â
âDo I even have to answer that? Youâve hit the bullseye, you always do. I wouldnât say Iâm running on empty, but Iâve kept myself pretty busy. With my degree and Holy Smokes, I donât even have time to realize how much Iâm doing,â he laughed, glad they were still experiencing the mid-day lull so he could have a proper chat with his friend. Not that Wolfgang didnât appreciate every one of his customers, but it had been ages since heâd idly talked to a friend and heâd missed it. âIâm happy, though. You know me - the most content workaholic in the world.âÂ

Hugo noticed that famous smile of the manâs face falter for a moment. He knew then and there his act of looking happy wasnât working. So he dropped it, but only a little. He at least wanted the man to think he was still at least fine and not over thinking literally everything, from work, to his daily life, and getting sad about it. Fucking springâŚÂ
Hearing the other speak about food, he perked up, but only slightly. He hadnât eaten all day (and he wasnât about to tell the man that he didnât eat much when he felt like this) so he was fairly starved. âI am, yeah. I appreciate it, Wolfie. I really do.â He chuckled a little, a genuine one. âUm⌠You can put them on the dining room table.. Iâd say the coffee table but..â He glanced to it, realizing that damn flask was still there. He was sure Ezra had told him once or twice that Hugo rarely ever drank, if any at all. âSorry my house is a bit messy, I just⌠Havenât been feeling myself I guess⌠I get like this every once in a while..â âEvery once in a while was definitely an understatement. This happened a lot. But having Wolfgang there, it made him feel a little better. Not a whole lot, but he felt he could smile and make it genuine.
âSure thing, â he replied, hesitating briefly to glance at the coffee table before dropping the food off in the dining room. Wolfie didnât really know Hugo, but he was mildly concerned by the messy house and the obvious drinking. Of course, he had no right to say anything seeing as he was more an acquaintance than a friend, but keeping his mouth shut was much harder than anticipated. It was that strange pull again, rooted deep inside him much like his more feline instincts, and he was beginning to suspect it was something more than just run-of-the-mill attraction.Â
âSorry youâre feeling out of sorts,â he continued once heâd returned empty-handed, belatedly realizing he still had his shoes on and was now potentially tracking the outside world all over Hugoâs home. âMaybe some foodâll help? My Momâs a firm believer in the healing powers of a good meal,â Wolfie chuckled, bending down to untie his boots and set âem by the door, his smile genuine once more now that heâd recovered from the initial surprise. He was good at remaining a source of positivity, it was just a part of his nature honed through years of friendships and family instability.Â

ezralexingtonâ:
Ezra thought a playdate for Claytonâs dogs was a great idea. Clayton would never set one up for them so it was up to Ezra to make sure that they made friends. Besides he always liked having an excuse to make his friends come over. He was a homebody but still a social butterfly so life could be hard at times. The want to see people and be social always warring with the want to stay home on his couch snuggled up with his cat.Â
Isabella was down for a nap but would no doubt be up soon enough after Wolfie and Alastor came over. The dogs always got so excited to see each other. He found it funny that Claytonâs dogs were so friendly when their owner wasnât such a fan of making friends. He knew they had arrived before he heard the knock on the door. The two dogs had run over and started acting insane so he knew Alastor had to be on the other side of the door.Â
Opening the front door he watched as all three dogs greeted each other and started running around the house. Grinning he moved aside so his friend could enter. âLooks like theyâre already started acting insane. How are you?â
Chucking as the dogs rushed to greet each other, Wolfie shuffled indoors, quickly unclipping Alastorâs leash from his collar so he could freely run through Ezraâs house without dragging the weretiger along with him. âI donât think they ever stop, but this definitely makes it worse. Itâs fantastic, isnât it?âÂ
Pulling off his shoes so he didnât start tracking dirt through his friendâs nice house, Wolfie set them by the door before following Ezra from the entryway. âIâm great. Busy as always, but I wouldnât have it any other way. What about you? Howâs everything going?âÂ
Wolfie was very fond of both Ezra and his family, but heâd never really had a chance to get to know them as well as he did the witch. But they made Ezra happy so it was easy to assume that they were just as wonderful as he, even if the few times heâd met them werenât much to go on. It was the small things like not knowing the people closest to one of his best friends, that really brought home the fact that he needed to make more of an effort to spend time with those he cared for. He loved his work and his schooling, yes, but above all else, he held the belief that family was of the highest importance. Whether it be by blood or by choice, heâd do anything for the people he deemed family...including giving up everything heâd ever worked for.Â
While perhaps not the healthiest mindset, there was no changing it.Â
Feline Good || Lilith & Wolfie
lilithxcarlisleâ:
The panther let out a snort of amusement at the tigerâs slow approach, knowing that he was trying to hold back age old instincts in a futile battle of wills. The catnip would win him over as surely as it always had, he just had to give in. When he finally did, joining her on the floor in a less than graceful shove of his face across the carpet, Lilith let out a rumbling purr of satisfaction that near vibrated the floor underneath them, her eyes going half lidded with pleasure.Â
:I got it from my witch friend, Jesse. Heâs been working with a few new ways of growing it. Some magical and some just good farming. He offered to let me try them all out. Be his guinea pig, if you will. Guinea cat? Either way, it means you and I get a nice, free supply for awhile.: She had to agree though, the current batch was potent, shredding her thoughts and concerns and leaving her mind in a pleasant haze much faster than most strains did.Â
With another twist of her lithe body, she moved across the carpet, stretching her paw out toward Wolfieâs side with her claws sheathed, prodding him gently. :Feels better already, right?: She certainly felt better than she had in a few days, finally able to let go of her concerns for the time being and allow herself to drift. Another happy rumble escaped her as she rolled over and swiped her tongue over the carpet, tasting the tang of the catnip and letting her mouth hang open to better catch the enhanced scent of it in her mouth.Â
Instead of responding to her question he stuck his face back into the gradually dispersing pile on his carpet, mirroring her pleased rumbles with his own. Magical catnip - that made sense. A small part of him, a part being shoved to the very back of his head by the gradually descending haze, wondered if the magical component would make the effects last longer and keep him incapacitated well into tomorrow. It was a problem that future-Wolfie would have to deal with, present Wolfie wouldnât have minded staying hazy for the foreseeable future.Â
He was so tired. He hadnât really noticed the extent before, but now that he was relaxed and comfortable, it hit him like a ton of bricks. Or, more aptly, a ton of warm blankets and cozy pillows. However, Wolfie wasnât so far gone that he thought it was acceptable to sleep while he had a guest, especially one that felt the need to get intoxicated just to deal with a problem of hers. The weretiger prided himself on being a good friend and good friends didnât doze off when hosting.
:âs nice of him. Is there like a questionnaire we have to fill out for his research or is he just taking our lack of deadness as a good sign?:Â
