Kai Chambers

It was hard to imagine something you’d never really had. A sane, stable, consent-filled relationship was kind of like an end of the rainbow chest of gold, it was something Dina knew existed but had never expected to find. She hadn’t been the girl for long relationships in the past, save for the one she’d shared with Brynna. No matter how safe and sane he made her feel, she couldn’t really trust that she wouldn’t destroy them somehow. Yet every time she thought they would hit a snag, he managed to make it all okay. She couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “You know you’re speaking greek or something right? I get that it is your intention not to treat me that way, but you have to be aware that half this city expects you to, and by law I am your property. If I fuck up, it all comes back to you.” Sighing against his lips, she leaned into the kiss, closing her eyes for a moment. “I will treasure it as best I can.” she murmured back. 

Kai knew how to give. That’s what he did in every relationship, because he thought he needed to give in order to keep people around. In order for people to love him. That is what he was good at. And while he loved to give, he loved that Dina gave him something in return. Something he never thought he’d have. It was a peculiar relationship, yes, but Kai wouldn’t want to change a thing. He loved this woman. She was his, and he was hers, that’s all that mattered. Kai shrugged his shoulders at her words. “Just because they expect me to, doesn’t mean I will. And if it falls back to me, whatever. Do what you want to do, don’t worry about me.” He said softly, smiling against her lips. “Please don’t break it.” He whispered, a little bit of vulnerability shining through.

Every time they came to another crossroads like this, Dina was scared that the change would end up ripping them apart. Or rather that her fears would. And while she was at times keenly aware of them, at other times she was not. The years she’d endured of captivity had in a sense given her strengths, but it had also been quite a shock when she no longer had a firm set of rules to adhere to. Without rules, she found herself being much more impulsive and rash, reckless even. Which was fine when your actions only had consequences for yourself, but the second he sent in the papers to claim her, all her actions would mainly have consequences for him. “I know that..” she nodded, smiling faintly because he was being so sweet and caring. It seemed like there was no bounds to his kindness and it made her both feel happy and safe as well as insecure. She still didn’t entirely belive that he knew what he was getting into with her. Nor that she was worth the effort. When he looked away, her stomach began to knot up, and her free hand fisted underneath the table. She was asking too much, just like she’d feared. Sharing wasn’t typically something wolves were known for.. especially not if it was a mate sort of situation. Her eyes dropped and she shifted uncomfortably on the chair, wishing she could just disappear. She could feel his eyes returning to her though, and despite the effort it took she forced hers to level with his again. While she wanted to reply, she felt too emotional to string too many words together, especially hearing that last part. He was really okay with this? If she hadn’t felt the warmth of his fingers on her cheek so keenly she would have had to pinch herself to believe she was still awake. Once he was done speaking, Dina exhaled heavily. “You really are a freaking saint, you know that? But look, if at any point you’re no longer okay with it, just tell me, okay? And we’ll figure it out.” Her smile turned just a little shy as she continued. “You do have my heart. Every inch.” 

kai could tell that this conversation wasn’t easy for Dina. As far as he knew she didn’t have a ‘normal’ relationship in her life and their relationship was a far cry from it as well. He didn’t even begin to understand everything that she has been through but he could imagine it wasn’t very easy for her to adjust and giving her ‘rules’ and ‘boundaries’ wasn’t gonna make it any easier. He meant what he said though, he didn’t mind her having sex with other people, because he knew that it was only physical. Her heart belonged to him and that is what matters. He knew that at the end of the day she would come home to him, no matter what, and that was enough.....for now. He ran his thumb over her cheek gently, noticing how tense she was as they talked about this subject. “I wouldn’t call myself a saint....not at all. I don’t possess you, Dina. You are not my property and I will never treat you as such. I love you with all of my heart and I will try to always be honest with you.” He said with a soft smile before leaning forward to kiss her softly. “For the record....” He started whispering against her lips, “....You have my heart as well. It only beats for you.” 

Dina somewhat waved him off. “Its okay. The freaky shit happening today has me a bit on edge. Its good to see you in one piece too.” she gave him a quick smile, that was a little forced given the tension of the situation and had nothing to do really with him. Normally she wouldn’t have left her cell. It was too reckless, taking such a risk so close to being claimed for the first time. But after several hours without Kai showing up or seeing Tatiana anywhere, Dina had decided that she couldn’t just sit around. “Right.. well I gotta make sure Tatiana is safe first. I think her masters house isn’t too far.” she said, meeting his gaze, almost feeling a little sorry for dragging him around as she was too sure he wouldn’t leave her side. “Guess you’re coming with?” her tone attempting to be teasing as she reached out to lace her left hand with his right. If he was smart, he wouldn’t argue with her. Which she was banking on. 

Kai stepped closer and put his hand on her shoulder, rubbing over it comfortingly. If he was honest, he had this urge to touch her, be close to her, so he could make sure she was okay. It was comforting for him as well. “It definitely feels nice to be in one piece.” He said with a light chuckle, always joking as usual. He squeezed Dina’s hand in response letting her know he would follow her wherever she would go. While he did prefer to get her someone safe, he knew she wouldn’t budge until she made sure her friend was safe. “Of course I’m coming with. Someone has to make sure you’re not getting yourself into trouble.” He teased her lightly as they started to walk towards their destination.

It was in some ways disheartening to see the city crumble away like this. Sure, Dina had no love lost for the people who had built and who governed it, but that didn’t mean that she hated the place itself. The prison she hated. And the guards there. Some mistresses and masters too. But not the vibrant city. It reminded her of her years exploring and living on her own. Those years had been rough and to some degree very harsh, but they had also been years when she had felt independent and free. More in charge of her own life and who she wanted to be than any other time. As her purple eyes narrowed waiting for a response, they widened in surprise at watching Kai emerge. Not because she wasn’t relieved to see him, especially in one piece, but because she hadn’t expected to see him here. It did dawn on her that he probably could have tracked her, which was kind of cute in a stalkerish way. “You nearly gave me a heart attack.” she accused in a slight annoying tone, though her eyes quickly skimmed him while her fingers traced the length of his shoulders and arms. “I’m fine.. I was gonna check on you then Tatiana but then I came across this weird trail of rubble. Do you have any clue whats going on?” 

Kai gave her a sheepish look, feeling a little bad about almost giving her a heart attack. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just relived to see you.” He told her, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly and shrugging his shoulders. He walked over to her to check out the rubble she was talking about and shook his head. “I have no idea. But whatever it is, it’s bad. We have to go somewhere save, Dina.” He said as he turned to her. “It’s too dangerous out here.” He said, concern lacing his voice. He didn’t know what was happening but he wasn’t gonna let Dina risk her life out there when there was nothing but chaos around. 

A defensive ball of light shot from her hand without her entirely having control of it. Eyes narrowing, Dina could have sworn she’d just seen something move. But she had to have seen wrong? Because statues did not move.. unless there was someone behind them using the figure as a shield or cover. Yet she found it slightly haunting as she crossed the park grounds, noticing that some of the statues she had often walked past whenever leaving a rental was gone. What the fuck? Swinging off the brown patch of dirt and onto the asphalt, her eyes widened and the halfling came to a jerk like stop as she noticed a lot of scattered and crumbled stone along the road.

Unable to push down her curiosity, the brunette began following the trais lof stone, trying to figured out where they might be leading. Of course she shouldn’t divert from her purpose for being out here in the first place, but she just couldn’t help herself. Until she felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise, with that uneasy yet familiar feeling of being watched. “Who’s there?” she said out loud, slowly turning in a circle, growing more suspicious as she could not spot anyone. “Show yourself or I’m gearing up to kick your ass.” she half threatened, speaking louder this time.

Kai didn’t know what was going on but he knew that he needed to find Dina. He himself that he didn’t claim her sooner because then she would’ve been with him and not down in the cells. He knew the changeling could handle herself and kick some ass but he was still worried and his inner wolf kicked in, wanting to protect her. He tried to find her scent within the rumble and chaos of the city and he was relieved when he found it. He followed it until he found her. He held up his hands in surrender when she yelled at him that she was gonna kick his ass. He definitely didn’t blame her for being cautious about her surroundings. “Dina. It’s me.” He said as he moved closer to her, his eyes checking her for any injuries. “Are you okay?” 

Him trying to emulate a posh British accent did her in, as she had to raise her hand to cover her mouth in order to stifle the laughter she couldn’t hold back. Unable to fully form an answer, Dina shook her head only, sure that if she tried to speak she would only double over in laughter for all too see. The more time they spent together, the funnier he seemed to be. Which she knew she needed, given how easily she was prone to give in to melancholy and drown herself in her own hardships. Kai always made her forget them completely, and she loved him for it. “Yeah, I do know that. I’ll live.” she rebutted, teasing him right back. She nodded a little, aware and as always a bit awed at his capacity for understanding, yet the underlying shame remained. “You know I didn’t use to see it like she did anything horrible to me. Sure, at first I tried to fight her, but once I realized it wouldn’t work it was like my world just fell into place. And I’m sure it will never make sense to someone else, but its still hard to be angry with her, or not feel grateful for what she gave me as opposed to what she took.” She shrugged a little, finding the subject of Brenna one most people around simply couldn’t understand even if they wanted to. Chewing her lip, she tried to decide how best phrase her next question, slightly terrified of his reaction. “But do you want us to be exclusive, or not?” She feared that if he wanted exclusivity right off the bat, she might mess it all up. Especially given that he was presenting her with a life full of choices, of freedom, without rules or any set lines to work within. Honestly she had no damn idea how to even begin living like that, but she would try her best. “Sorry wolfy, I can’t make any promises on that.” 

Kai laughed along with her, glad that they were able to laugh together and enjoy their time together. His heart felt so much lighter when Dina was around. Kai listened to her words intently and nodded his head. “I know I will never understand but if you ever wanna talk about her, what happened with her, I’ll always be there for you. Even when I don’t get it.” He said sympathetically. He was never gonna judge her for things he didn’t understand. He trusted her judgement. Kai frowned instinctively at her question, a little caught off guard by her words. He looked away and into the distance for a few seconds, trying to think about what she said. He sighed before locking eyes with her once more. “I would never ask anything of you that you’re uncomfortable with...” He started, reaching up with once hand to cup her cheek gently. “....I don’t care who you spend your time with or how you spend it.....as long as you return to me every night and let me love you. Just don’t let them treat you like garbage. You deserve so much more and now you have the freedom to do whatever or whoever you wanna do...” He chuckled a little at his own joke, showing her that he really meant it and that he was okay with not being exclusive right now. “...I love you. All of you. I don’t mind sharing your body as long as I’m the only one who has your heart.” 

“Uhm yeah, one of your making I might add. Also one you should be way more practiced at than me. And here you are talking dirty to me.. tsk tsk.” she replied, grinningly shaking her head and having to bite back more laughter. In her opinion they were freaking hilarious, so much so that if they had wanted to, they could have put on an entire comedic show and sold out world wide. However, the banter was reserved for the two of them only. It was theirs and theirs alone. While it wasn’t hard to spot the fact that his nerves were spinning and deduce that he definitely had hoped she would just follow his lead and play it cool, he was probably nervous for all the wrong reasons. What girl wouldn’t want to be loved back? Sure, being in love already was a little fast but it was kind of hard to keep pretending otherwise. Part of Dina had known it from the moment they met. Known that she would end up loving him with all she had before too long. Hearing him say the words, even if she’d had to push a little for him to say them, her heart beat hard and loud, her cheeks flushing with genuine joy. Their lips detangled and meshed together again so fast she was hardly able to keep up. Luckily, her body did all the thinking for her, lips responding just as passionately. At that moment, Dina could have gone on kissing him until she passed out from oxygen deprivation, not caring nor really noticing the fact that they weren’t entirely alone. Feeling breathless, she nodded, buying herself a little time to catch her breath. How did she feel? Now that was a good, yet difficult question to answer. “I sort of expected she would, eventually. Mostly relieved, a little sad.. which I know is messed up but..” she gave a small shrug. His next question was much easier to answer. “Yes, you can claim me. But we ought to talk about what that would mean. Just so we’re on the same page.” Now this was the part she was dreading.. 

“I apologize for my own stupidity, my lady.” He said in a very fake British Accent, trying to remain serious. Though he couldn’t keep up the act and burst out laughing along with her. It felt so nice to be able to joke around with her and laugh with her, without her thinking he’s a total moron. How could he not love this woman? And that fact that she loved him back was making his heart beat right out of his chest and swell with happiness. He felt so lucky to have met her. “I hope you know that means you’re stuck with me now.” He told her teasingly after they pulled away from the kiss. “I would never judge you for how you fell, Dina. You spent so much time with her it’s expected to be a little sad that she left....despite what she did to you.” He told her with a reassuring smile. His inner wolf whined in happiness when she said that he could claim her. “Of course. When it comes to me, I don’t want there to be any restrictions for you. I want you out of that cell and as free as possible. I know that it wouldn’t be the same as being actually free and out of Thorn Haven, but I don’t want there to be any rules for you. You can do whatever you want, just don’t get me into too much trouble.” He teased her.

Playfully rolling her eyes, Dina nudged him with her foot. “Eyy, there are adults present!” she replied, trying to keep a stern face but quickly loosing as she had to laugh. It was all too easy to love just how dorky Kai could be. He made her feel like she was back in high school with the clown boyfriend who made everyone laugh. As someone who had always been on the outside of that kind of happy, normal, teenager existence, Dina would be the first to admit she felt like she was on the moon when those feelings came around. She had never felt like this about any guy she’d met. It was exhilarating and wonderful on a whole new level. She only feared that they were too different when it came down to it. That as broken as she was, she couldn’t entirely give him what he wanted, nor what he deserved. It had quickly become her biggest fear, that she would ruin his happiness rather than give him happiness. That she was too damaged to be enough for him, even if he thought that she was. Her eyes visibly widened at his slip. It was too apparent to ignore or miss. “Kai Chambers, did you just almost say you love me?” she asked, and while her tone was indeed a bit teasing, it was also quite hopeful. God how could she not be? Holding tightly onto his hands, she leaned forward across the table, effectively nullifying the space between them. “I love you too.” Dina whispered the words against his lips, stealing a kiss. “I sorta remember us already agreeing on that. And I might even have some news to make it all a lot easier. I heard from a friend of a friend that Brenna is leaving town. Now I don’t know if its permanent, but it gives us a lot of more room to work with.” 

“Oh I’m sorry. I forgot we are in a sophisticated environment.” He joked back, laughing at their playful banter. He loved that he could just be himself with her. He didn’t have to worry about saying the wrong thing or being too dorky. It felt nice that he doesn’t have to hold back with her. Kai swallowed hard when he saw her eyes visibly widen at his slip up. He was mentally slapping himself for ruining their night so early on. There were two choices here. He could deny it and act like nothing happened or he could tell her the truth. “I almost did yes....but almost is not good enough. I love you.” He stated, locking eyes with her so she knew how much he meant it. He smiled brightly when she said she loved him too. He returned the kiss though it was way too short for his liking so he leaned forward again for a much longer and more passionate kiss. Though he pulled back sooner than he would’ve liked, due to the audience around them. He was surprised by the news, though he couldn’t help but feel hopeful about it. “She is? That does make things a lot easier.” He agreed with a nod. “How do you feel about her leaving?” he asked softly, knowing that her relationship with Brenna was confusing to say the least, and he wanted to know how she felt about it. “Does that mean....you’ll let me claim you?” He asked, not able to keep the hopeful tone out of his voice.

His flattering words made her spout a rare blush, her skin tingling in that pleasant though now more familiar way where his lips had touched. “Guess I should get dolled up more often then.” She smiled crookedly. They both deserved an evening off from all external worries, one to focus on just them. This. Their.. relationship. The only relationships Dina had been in, had been fairly destructive ones. Even when there was all heart and a lot of passion, there had been some toxic side to it all as well.. which hadn’t really laid a good foundation for what she and Kai were attempting. They both wanted something real and genuine. Their love wasn’t in any way toxic or twisted. It was simply pure and strong. Though apart from that, Dina didn’t really know what they could be, or should be. For one, she had never considered being exclusive with someone until Brenna had somewhat taken that choice away from her. Now she felt like promising something along those lines would make her feel caged again, or struggle to trust. “Oh I know you do.” she rebutted, her tone mirroring his. Maybe this was the right time to bring up that piece of good news, or well sort of news she had gotten the other day. If only it wouldn’t ruin the mood that was. Her smirk went into a wide smile. It was so damn nice, to watch him blush at her words. It made her heart beat faster, igniting that feeling of blood rushing trough her veins. “To be fair I’m not used to being spoiled, and I’m kind of bad at being on the receiving end when I can’t exactly return it. But you don’t really need to impress me though. It is however very sweet.” Nodding a bit, understanding coloring her eyes, Dina reached across the table for his hand. “Look, I’m no expert either. All of my past boyfriends have been mean or abusive or both. And its never been serious.. you know? So this is all new to me too.” 

Kai chuckled lightly at her words and shook his head. “You always look breathtaking....especially naked.” He said teasingly. Despite his nervousness, his dorky side still came out to play. It was part of who he was and nothing in this world could take that away from him apparently. He doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to relationships. All of his exes used him for his status or money and left within the first couple of months. Though Dina and his relationship was far from normal, it was the most genuine relationship he has had so far. But he wanted more. He wanted her out of her chains so he could spoil her and show her how much he cared. Treat her how she deserved to be treated. But this wasn’t as easy in a place like this. Even though they haven’t known each other for very long, the wolf knew that he loved her. Though he was afraid to admit that to himself and to her, as long as Brenna was still out there looming over their happiness. “I hope you know that I don’t expect anything in return. I just wanted to do something nice for you because I lo....care about you.” He almost slipped up and he was pretty sure she caught it but he tried to brush it off. He laced their fingers together when she took his hand and smiled at her. “I guess we can figure this thing out together?” 

“You’re sweet.” she said, squeezing his hand in an effort to reassure him. Dina inwardly cursed, feeling guilty that she hadn’t just kept her mouth shut. She tended to forget how they had grown up and thus grown accustomed to very different lifestyles. His was the kind her adoptive parents had basically forced down her throat, though it had all come from a place of love. Just like it was clearly coming from a heartfelt place with Kai. He just wanted to spoil her, and he had the money to do so which begged the question of why he shouldn’t? It was a free country, and while she had plenty of reasons she could name as to why being in a fancy restaurant in a sophisticated dress with lots of rich people did make her uncomfortable, none of them were really good enough to deny his gesture. In fact she was being heartless and rude just thinking that way. Though her head continued on its own, quietly wondering what a celebratory date would look like if this was just a regular one. “Show me off?” she attempted to tease, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “Its great. Particularly the not sneaking around part. And being just us part.” Once seated in a booth, not a populated area, Dina had to admit she felt a bit better about it all. In here no one would judge her un lady like manners or snicker behind her back if she didn’t eat in a manner they deemed proper. His nervous rambling perplexed her a little bit, while she also had to admit she found it somewhat amusing, a small smirk on her lips as she watched him curiously. “I’m big on beer, so beer. You’re cute when you’re nervous Mr wolf.” That last part said with mirth. 

Kai didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t good at planning dates or spoiling his love interests, because none of them stuck around long enough for him to try. Spending money was basically his only move. He gave her a soft smile when she kissed his cheek. “How can I not show you off. You look breathtaking.” He said in more serious note, kissing her cheek in return. He just wanted to spend some time with her without having to worry about anything. He wanted to just focus on her and nothing else. “I’m glad. I like having you all to myself.” He said, his tone slightly teasing though there was definitely some truth behind it. Kai blushed when she called him cute and waved over the waiter to order beer for the both of them. “I don’t even know why I’m nervous to be honest. I just want to impress you I guess. I have never made it this far in a relationship so I don’t really know how to behave or what to do.” He admitted to her.

“You know I would have been perfectly happy going to a bar for a few beers..” Dina gently pointed out as they came to a stop in front of the front desk at the hella fancy restaurant Kai had booked them a table at. It was incredibly sweet of course, deadly romantic.. as were the gesture of buying her a gorgeous dress and high heels to accompany it, making sure she would fit in, not to mention being given entrance to the place at all. Realizing that she might sound both judgemental and ungrateful, Dina quickly spoke up again. “Its terribly romantic though, like a proper date.” She smiled warmly at him, feeling bad that she was allowing her issues with spending money and looking sophisticated get in the way of the gesture and evening he had clearly put a lot of thought into. “Is there a special occasion for this though?”

Kai couldn’t help but blush at her words, so he lowered his head in slight embarrassment. “I know I just....I just wanted to take you out properly I guess.” He had doubts about this all week. He wasn’t very good at this romantic stuff. The only thing he could come up with was to spend money on her. He had more than he could possibly know what to do with and he wanted to treat her, so he bought her a dress and invited her to this restaurant. “No occasion. I just want to spend time with you. Take you out. Have a nice dinner. Just a night where we can be just us and we don’t have to worry about anything else.” He told her with a shrug. He picked a restaurant that was a little bit out of town so the chances of running into Dina’s old mistress were pretty much nonexistent. He gave her a soft smile before he gave the waiter his name and they were seated in a secluded booth, away from the other guests, so it was just them. “We can still have some beer here....or do you prefer wine? Or something else?” He was nervous and she could probably tell, though he wasn’t really sure why. This was Dina for god’s sake. He spent countless hours with her, why was he nervous? 

Staggering over to the bar, Jaxon was in a serious need of a drink. Though watching someone jump over the bar and poured himself a drink, he couldn’t help but laugh internally as he moved in front of the man…wolf. Leaning against the bar, he shrugged his shoulders as she scrunched his nose before responding with, “Sure, why not.” 

Studying the other a bit more, curiosity got the better of him. “Any particular reason why you’re the one getting your own beer? Just impatient or prefer to make your drinks?” 

Kai nodded with a grin on his face before he poured the other guy a drink as well. He placed the glass in front of him with a nod of his head. “I am indeed an impatient man and since I don’t have boobs that I can flaunt all over the place, I have to make my own drinks.” He said with a shrug.

Quite the little rebel, wasn’t he? A short chuckle escaped the redhead as she nodded in response – as of lately, it seemed the witch was being offered plenty of free drinks – what was up with that, she didn’t know. But she planned to embrace that bit of generosity for as long as it may last. Usually, anything good was pretty short-lived when it came to her. “Oh, absolutely. – This place is quite lacking in entertainment.. might as well drink while I’m stuck in here.”

Kai grinned back at her and poured a glass of beer for her as well before placing it in front of her. He stayed behind the bar as he leaned forward so he could talk to her a little better. “That’s my motto. Might as well drink.” He joked, raising his glass at her before taking a drink.

Kai was out for a drink. At least that’s what it was supposed to be, but that bartender has only been serving women all night and Kai has been sipping on an empty bottle of beer for the past half hour. He was losing his patience so he decided to jump over the bar and just pour himself a beer. He looked up to the person in front of him and grinned. “Do you want some too? Might as well while I’m back here.”

“It’s just on that shelf there,” Esmeralda pointed out to the customer. Of course, if they had just looked, they might have saved themselves time and not wasted hers. She had let the cashier go on an early mark and now that there were a very people milling around, she was regretting that decision. The book store got a lot of foot traffic and sometimes there would be an afternoon rush. It seemed to be dying down now though there were still a few people around. As another stepped up, she put on her best, friendly smile. “Hello, yes? May I help you?” she asked.

Kai didn’t know what he was doing at a book store, but he was bored and he needed something to do. Reading a book sounded like a reasonable solution for that. “Okay. Hi. yes. I am looking for a book.” He simply said, not elaborating on it any more. 

Brandon walked the streets of Thorn Haven as the afternoon sun shone down on him. For someone with the ability to teleport and who was in possession of a number of cars, Brandon made it a point to take a walk every now and then. After all, despite the seediness and debauchery TH was known for, it also had its picturesque spots. The angel had to make some effort not to think about business though, as his mind went through a virtual checklist of what needed to be done over at Vice. Then it moved on to Bambi, and then to Coco, and then to the girls that were going to be there at the end of the day… why was he walking again?

Lost in thought, he bumped into someone and the Brit turned around and wasted no time apologizing. “I’m terribly sorry, are you alright?” he asked. “I apologize, I wasn’t paying attention.”

Kai was rounding the corner when he bumped into someone. He winced and rubbed his shoulder as a pain shot through his right arm. “Ow...Man. What are you made of? Steel?” He asked, though he laughed lightly at his joke. His shoulder really did hurt though. “It’s fine, man. I wasn’t looking either. You’re all good. Thankfully I heal pretty quickly.” He joked once more.

“Hey, hey!” Matthew hoisted himself up half on the bar as he snapped his fingers to get the bartender’s attention. “Jackass.” He gestured at his empty glass, “My drink’s dry, how about you do your fucking job and pour me another, huh?” 

Then after catching the eye of the person next to him added: “And one for this one over here. They look like they need it.” Matthew laughed. “You know what…One for everyone in here. Drinks on me.”

Kai was sitting at the bar, nursing his third or fourth drink, he lost count. He’s been a little on the edge lately and needed to let loose a little. He chuckled when he noticed the way the person next to him was talking to the bartender. He wasn’t judging him though, since the bartender has only been serving women all night. Fucking horn dog. He lifted his current drink in thanks when the other guy ordered him a drink. “Thanks for that, buddy. I definitely could use some more.” His speech was already a little slurred though it wasn’t that noticeable.
