Wade and I are off to Thailand in 5 days - okay 4 days and 19 hours!
We’re going to do some modern city in Bangkok, some old city in Chiang Mai, and some seriously beautiful beach in Phuket. Looking forward to tuk tuks, street food and night markets!
And elephants! I get to spend a whole day with the elephants!

Last Day. Tomorrow we head home. It has been amazing. Amongst all of the fun, i have learned a lot. I have learned that i can do anything. There were moments of sheer exhaustion, but i made it through. I have learned that Nick's stress levels are waaay higher than I ever knew and that not knowing what will happen next almost puts him in a physical anxiety attack. BUT when he gets past the hurdle - he wants more! I have learned that Jake can face any challenge as long as he can reach out and physically know you are there. I have learned, again, that Alex is my rock and that i have a blast hanging out with her. I have learned to graciously accept the help of others; from family friends, to flight attendants, to Disney Cast members, to fabulous people in costumes and wonderful aunts. All of these people pitched in to help make the trip wonderful. I have learned that the Rainbow Society of Alberta truly understands what special moments like these can do to help ease some of the ongoing battles that come with chronic issues. And i am so thankful for all of it.

Two peas in a pod. Taking his brothers advice on how to meet your crush, Nick has his moment with Princess Anna. The bad news is that I shut the video off just as Nick dropped to one knee and proposed to the Princess of Arendell. Yep, he really did.
For years his goal has been to meet Queen Elsa. He was so set to ask her so many things and then ....the big moment comes. Jake's advice on meeting your crush? Don't look - she might not notice you are there!

Failure is not an option. Dream big. Spark the imagination. A virtual reality experience on the planet Mars was outstanding. Jake was hoping the leather flight jacket was coming home. Nick was just glad he escaped the launch simulator.
Some moments are worth every ounce of energy that are put in to getting there. This is one of the best I’ve seen.
Princess Belle's Personal Guards. While meeting Buzz Lightyear was pretty cool, the highlight of the day was Jake and Nick getting chosen to be in a play with Princess Belle - well, that and Nick deciding that Princess Tianna was the most beautiful girl he has ever seen!
RIGHT NOW! Not the reaction we were counting on, but if you could have seen them a few minutes later when it really sank in - they were literally shaking with excitement.
The day getting here was full of the typical Woelfle adventures - from a mess with seat assignments to Nick getting chosen for a high security check through customs things went downhill fast. But with some excellent people helping out along the way we have arrived and are set for the Magic Kingdom in the morning.

The panic has started to set in. Really, what was I thinking?
I can’t do this trip without Wade.
Why did I send them to Camp Horizon this weekend – just so I can have a whole pile of Camp laundry to do before we go?

What if I don’t explain things well enough to get the boys the DAS pass at Disney?

I have watched these kids go through 35 surgeries – I can do anything!

Packing is almost done – just trying to figure out a way to take the Murray family with us. I might need another suitcase for that.

“Dream big” she said.
If only she knew that for Jake and Nick, a dream would be to have super powers like Captain America, or be able to spin webs like Spiderman, or fly like Ironman. They believe these things are possible.
“Is there anyone you would like to meet?” she asked.
If only she knew that for Jake and Nick, this was a loaded question.
Sure … Elsa and Anna, Captain America, Rapunzel, Spiderman, Harry Potter, a storm trooper, a real astronaut, Cinderella, Ironman, Prince Eric and Ariel and did we mention Elsa and Anna - and Olaf?
That was the very moment that the idea for Jake and Nick’s Rainbow Wish began to grow.
There are wonderful organizations out there who provide wishes to children who face life threatening illnesses. But for those kids in Alberta who face a life time of chronic issues, medical appointments, surgeries, therapies and everything else that comes along with complicated special needs, there is the Rainbow Society of Alberta.
In 2015 our good family friends - The Murray family - submitted a nomination for Jake and Nick to receive a wish from the Rainbow Society. Within days the wheels were turning and now we are only 16 days from seeing their joint wish of a family trip to Disney World come true. They have no clue - we aren’t telling them till the morning we leave, so stay tuned to see their surprise.
