No, we couldn't get the plane taking off (it left the airport earlier than scheduled) but we did catch the Miami-Dade County trucks that transported the insecticide Naled used in the first round of aerial spraying in Miami Beach. "I have been waiting for this for a long time," said Domingo Santana, as he boarded the first commercial flight from South Florida to Cuba in 55 years. Santana was born in the island but hadn't been back since he left with his parents, when he was 8 years old. The 150 people on board of the JetBlue flight from Fort Lauderdale to Santa Clara, Cuba, were received with fanfare by Cuban authorities. Read/hear more at WLRN.org.
