We had another fantastic bunch of submissions to our Classic Room Theme Design Contest! What a creative community of players Webkinz has!

While the final decision on the winning theme is up to the Webkinz creative team, we always take YOUR input into account before making our selection.

It wasn’t easy but we have selected 10 finalists that we think could make an amazing addition to the WShop in Classic. The winning theme will be added to the WShop later this year.

obviously the webkinz team cannot please everyone, and I am not upset my design didn't get chosen - I had fun creating it and I understand there were lots of good entries! BUT. to me, a lot of these themes/items feel like themes/items we already own.

the two pastel themes are cute but VERY similar to each other and to other items we already have. same with the dino theme, I feel like between the prehistoric theme and estore stuff we have a good number of dino items.

I do enjoy the dorm theme and tbh I'm surprised we don't have kinzville academy dorm stuff already, especially considering school events like the super school giveaway. if the dorm theme doesn't win I wouldn't be surprised to see the items anyway in some event or challenge.

but honestly I am upset by bayou princess being picked and I feel like it was picked purely for its art, which. it's cute art! that artist is very talented in their visual work! but it's very clearly a ripoff of princess and the frog/tiana and doesn't feel creative or genuine. the idea already existed! the idea is nothing new! if it were like. frog prince I would feel differently but the beignet trampoline?? the fleur de lis?? that is very obviously new orleans/princess and the frog and I want to call disney to report copyright infringement lmao

It’s unknown why they decided to cancel the release of this pet so far into development. Perhaps they thought kids wouldn’t want to cuddle a lobster?

In recent years the lobster has made a few appearances in the form of e-Store clothing, as well as an April Fool’s Pet in 2019.
