What is Elik’s Edge?

Elik’s edge, the cliff at the end of the shopping district.

On the Wizard101 Central wiki its description is:

A cliff at The end of the Shopping District where some wizards need to go for a quest. Otherwise, it provides a nice view.

On the Wizard101 wikia its description is:

Elik's Edge is a cliff at the end of the Shopping District where a Frost Giant can sometimes be seen. 

The Theory:

A while ago (Jan 26 2009) there was a thread on the message boards titled Elik’s edge.  The author of the post was asking if anyone knew how the area was created, seeing that the only time its ever mentioned is during the level 7 ice quest, (where no information on the area is actually given).

The most intriguing part of this thread was Merle Ambrose’s response:

Hmm interesting.

You would assume that ‘Elik” wouldn’t have survived, as he had jumped off a bottomless cliff. But, what if he had survived?  He could have used the relics he had stolen to kickstart his own shop, or auction house... 

and the only NPC in the game called Elik is Elik Silverfist, owner of the Bazaar...

So basically Elik’s edge is named after Elik Silverfist who stole relics from the Shopping district and escaped by jumping off the cliff and then used the relics to create the Wizard City Bazaar.

(either that or the ice giant is called Elik, but this is more fun)
