it's a good night to dance on me

i’m not Atlas, but corruption is a weight and i’ve been carrying it on my shoulders for a long time. i meant to change the yellow wallpaper in the living room years ago but it’s rotten & fallen to pieces & hell the corners are missing & i don’t know what loathsome things had been feeding from it. i’m not Atlas, but my ribcage feels heavy. it is my bones that begin to fracture & my decadence that dares to claim a part of me / in me. it aches like a parasitic lung growing god knows what in it & i want to think that my body is a costume i can run away from whenever i want to. i’m not Atlas, but be sure: i know what it feels to be heavy.
