There's probably some tragic irony to this- the way Castrum Kremnos falls.

It's not as if this entire tragedy had been unexpected. Dreaded, certainly, but their moving city had been running and running from the edges of the tide for as long as Mydei had been king. The only news that reaches them from merchants these days are of how one city or another has fallen to the Black Tide, how only three cities are left standing.

Phainon gets a scant few happy months, before the Black Tide rears its head once again.

It wasn't as if he'd thought that running away would do anything; the Black Tide was consuming the world, after all. But, foolishly, perhaps, he'd hoped to have at least a few years before everything plunged back into hell.

Three months after the fall of King Eurypon, Phainon thinks he can confidently say that he and Mydeimos are friends.

Sure, they get into all sorts of stupid fights all the time (Krateros can certainly account to that) but what else can you call what they have? Running out into the woods to go hunting together every chance they get, wandering through the markets pointing out the various wares and goods.

After the fall of Aedes Elysiae, Phainon finds himself in Castrum Kremnos.

It isn't exactly a purposeful decision; he'd simply wandered around, tagged along with a merchant group or band of refugees here and there, but eventually, he'd ended up more or less settling in the City of Strife.
