For example, when Deacon had decided to talk to his parents about what he truly wanted Prunella and Goldie were supportive in an honest way that did not sugarcoat their opinions.

Chase and Silver offered advice on what to say and how to say it so he can make himself and his wishes understood to his parents.

Finally, Deacon asks Bronze if he has anything to say.

Bronze casually responds ''tell them what they want to hear'' which comes off as funny because the whole deal is about Deacon taking initiative to do what he wants (as Deacon himself points out), and this is something Bronze has been encouraging, yet at last minute he basically tells him to say something that avoids conflict, implying that in order to keep his peace of mind it is okay to hide the truth.

When Deacon returns he admits that following Chase and Silver's advice did not really make a difference. However, the moment Deacon talks about profits and how his parents can actively help him get closer to his goals things change.

Deacon's parents are worried about Deacon and want him to have a stable future devoid of stress related to money and they also want to be part of the process that leads to that future, so the moment Deacon changes his approach and touches on the things they are really concerned about they are more accepting.

In the end Bronze was actually right and his advice not only was not just there for comedic purposes, but it was the most fitting for the situation. Deacon did tell them what they wanted to hear. Bronze does not spoon food the answers to Deacon, he points him towards the right direction and he trusts that Deacon will find his way. And the moment Deacon does find his way Bronze is proud of him. His efforts played a big role on Deacon's growth and he is sharing that joy, it is the first time his actions play such a big role in a human's life and not only his efforts are not going to waste and are eventually recognized by Deacon, they are also taken seriously the moment Deacon truly realizes what Bronze is getting at every single time.
