Magic in the WingSMP explained.
A comprehensive, though slightly vague, explanation, as well as added input from the 3 gods.
An added note that "Magic" is directly inspired by experience points in basic minecraft and is slightly altered but works the same.
Within the 3 realms of the overworld, nether and end, magic is a sufficient and endless material that mortals are able to harness for their own uses such as enchanting, crafting, and brewing. Magic is an essence, found in living life forms, or the remains of life forms (which some mortals have found uses for in alchemy and crafting). Of course, some creatures and beings may have more magic than others. Common life forms such as cows, pigs, sheep, ect, do contain magic, but barely any magic at all.
"It's believed that magic is measured by how powerful or difficult a being is. The harder to kill, the more magic is stored inside." ~Sig.
However, where mortals can harness magic, the gods control it, even having somewhat of an ethereal connection to magic and imbalances within the realms they're connected to. Though, during the Separation Era, the NetherWing, Kiran, and EndWing, Sig, had (unfortunately) discovered an effect on magic, where magic seems to have a connection to the realms they reside in.
When Kiran and Sig defeated the bosses of their realm, (The Elder Wither and the Ender Dragon), something strange had happened to them. The magic that was inside those bosses was far more than expected, to a point where that magic had become unstable. When they both killed their corresponding bosses, all that magic transfered to them, and as a result, reshaped their bodies to better suit the environment of their realms.
"It was extremely painful. Gods rarely ever feel true physical pain, and I can definitely take a stab or two, but when that wither magic entered me, it felt like my entire body was touched by the core of the sun while being stretched and torn open as my body was remade. Of course, I look badass different now. But I don't think even I'd want to go through that again." ~Kiran
Coincidentally, the magic in Sig and Kiran before being absorbed by the magic of their realms didn't disappear or vanish. It had ethereally transferred to the overworld god, Auralitura OverWing. Both of the God's old magic had returned to her, which was also incredibly painful to experience. However, her body was not reformed, for she already belonged to the overworld.
"I remember that night, the few minutes of unrelenting pain that just... happened out of nowhere. Once the pain had subsided, I could now feel I was stronger, and I now had control over the seas and lands instead of just the skies. Sadly, I knew what that meant." ~OverWing
But the gods, years later, encountered a new but confusing occurrence to the godly relationship of magic.
When the first bounds were created, they had a connection to the realms, all of them created in the image of their gods. Nowadays, some bounds will be formed and manifested in a specific part of each realm that mortals call "The Heart" of their realms. They are assumed to be made of leftover magic when there is enough, but mortals are still capable of having children and family trees. For obvious reasons, the gods know when a new mortal is born of realm magic.
However, each of the gods strangely experienced a unique phenomenon where they not only felt that a new bound had been born, but felt an overwhelming sense of confusion and power that they instantly recognized as god-powered magic. This was all heavily concerned with the 3 gods.
Each god, upon finding the mortals, was surprised to see that these new mortals were infants. A magic-born mortal is normal born at a minimum of 11 -15 years of age along with a common sense of their realms. But these new little mortals couldn't have been any more than a year old. What was strange these infants vaguely resembled the gods in one way or another.
In the end, with the strange occurrence of god magic in the once little mortals and the resemblance to them, the gods all took them in under the assumption they were, in some way, siblings.
"I remember when I found my two younger twins. They each resembled the warped and crimson forests of the nether. I'm not sure HOW I ended up with two siblings while Sig and Aura use my title got one sibling, but I think that just means I'm the better big sibling." -Kiran
"It's strange. Nothing like this has happened, as if they were prophets born for a prophecy without the prophecy... not even before we were created. No old books in my library reference anything remotely similar to this. My sister... she seems to sort of match my appearance. Her wings, ears and tail aren't the same shape as mine, and she doesn't resemble any of the 3 overworld bounds. It's like she's her own race of bound. I don't hold that against her, though." ~OverWing
"My brother, now that he's grown up a bit, resembles me in my youthful centuries to a sort of unnerving point. I used to think that he's me, reborn. But eventually realized he just shares the same god magic I do. Internationally that is. When I asked Kiran and OverWing if they could feel the same thing in their siblings, they confirmed it. Our siblings, however, don't have godly abilities. They're just... mortals with god energy in them. It's very strange." ~Sig
Overall, magic is a both simple but complex part of the three realms. It's hard for anyone, even the gods, to get a grasp on how it works. Hopefully, overtime, an understanding about magic will finally happen, and historians will write their own textbooks on the subject.
