Some VR anatomy practice!
Recently I have been trying to keep up a habit of doing figure and portrait studies each morning. Has been tons of fun, almost addictive! It's quite hard to stop once I get going :)
More head practice

A bit of head practice in Substance 3D Modeler in VR - workin' on more shape control
Now here we go! Will attempt to take this guy all the way.
Second go at a character- Lots of improvement needed, but getting there!
One of my first attempts at modeling a figure in Modeler VR. Feels super natural :)

30 min design challenge sketch from today
30 minute design challenge we do at work on Wednesdays. I've been challenging myself to do it in Adobe 3D Modeler VR
Been a while!
Practicing sculpting characters in Blender
I've just tossed a bunch of unfinished scraps up onto my instagram just to fill up my page a bit more since I haven't been able to do much since starting work full-time, and it was a bit of a painful reminder of the forgetfulness and impulsivity that come along with having ADHD. The good thing though, is that I'm aware of it now which massively helps with implementing new habits to minimize things like the forgetfulness. Who knows, maybe I'll actually finish at least one personal project this year ;) Side note, I almost forgot how much I love putting random words wherever I can in my designs.

Today while I was out, another bearded man stuck his head out of a moving truck and yelled "HEY, NICE BEARD!" with a thumbs up
Beard culture and attitudes around beards have always been hilarious to me - everybody gets so excited about them.
I don't know though, I appreciate that random man for his compliment.
Also, I guess this mirror which used to be my grandmother's, then my mother's has finally come into my own possession. I'm so in love with the colours :)
Working on refining my 3D blockout process. As a concept artist I've found rigging to be quite tedious with a generally low reward - I'm just not sure if spending a significant amount of time adjusting the weight painting is worth it in most cases. As a result, I've been experimenting a lot more with more of an action figure-like approach in which most of the major limbs are just separate objects, with the pivot points acting as a sort of pseudo-rig. This tends to result in more natural poses for me, and I'm eager to experiment with this way of working some more, with character models that are more than just naked bodies.
These two pieces were almost completely modelled out in A pose and then rigged & posed after. While I think they turned out fine, they did have quite a bit of weight painting issues that would have taken a lot of time to fix if I'd have put them in any position other than 'standing menacingly'
