I’ve recently read The invisible life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab and I can’t get it out of my head that Addie and Henry weren’t in love with each other but simply loved the feeling of being seen by another human being.
Love comes in many ways (there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they didn’t love each other) so I do think they were soulmates but I don’t think they were the star crossed lovers hardcore romantic type of soulmates. The way I see it it’s more like “I love you because you can see me as I am”. Addie and Henry are living a cycle where the aren’t seen/heard and meeting each other was an overwhelming breath of fresh air. I see them forming their romantic relationship not on each other’s personalities but the fact that they’re the only person who can acknowledge their personality. Henry and Addie are each other’s “perfect pause” to each other’s lives so to put it simply it’s not “i love you for you” it’s more “I love you for me.”
I loved the way Schwab intertwined Addie and Henry’s lives and their relationship so I’m not sure this all make sense but it’s just the way I interpreted their relationship. The book played out so beautifully that it didn’t bother me it just makes me like it more.

The only question I NEED answered in CoT is how the heck Bridget Daly become immortal🧍♀️

You know it might be an interesting turn of events if Matthew doesn’t get a love interest in CoT. I feel like when it comes to YA books there’s always a need for the main group of characters to be in a romantic relationship by the end of the book/series, or It’s common in books for everyone to meet their love interest around the same time, it would be new to see someone find their love interest later in life.
Matthew doesn’t necessarily need a love interest to be happy and yes, I know Matthew is in love with Cordelia but Jordelia is so in love with each other that I can’t imagine the situation being similar to JemxTessaxWill.
But if Matthew does get a love interest in CoT it could either be really sweet like Gabrily or it could seem forced because adding in a random character at this point could be difficult unless they are important to the plot.
It’s also kinda weird that in book theories: no love interest = character dies 😕
Does anyone else become fascinated with a certain time period when they read a book or watch a movie that takes place in that time period and just start building on that fascination by learning about the fashion, etiquette rules, diets, societal norms, influential people, etc.. 😌😊
