I can absolutely see each member of Huntrix assuming the other two are not virgins, while all three of them are.
Zoey
Perception: She's so cute and affectionate and energetic and uninhibited!
Reality: Was the Weird Kid in school, has closeness and relationship issues due to her parents' messy divorce, when she dares to make a move she tries to flirt by infodumping or by love poems that are too much for most people.
Mira
Perception: The classic take-no-shit does-what-she-wants bad girl. She must have a string of conquests as long as her hair.
Reality: Didn't like or trust anyone she met when she was still in her family's social circle, now she scares off everyone not brave or perceptive enough to see the lovergirl inside the badgirl. Also a little afraid of fallout from being a hunter hurting anyone close to her.
Rumi
Perception: Gorgeous, confident, in control. She could have whoever she wanted.
Reality: Hello, patterns? Also, trauma?
Hello, also stepping up to say I reblog your late husband and his dog every time I see them, and I love when they show up on my dash. There's a comment on one of those reblogs that's always stuck with me. "The spirit of love that death can end but not erase." I always think of that when I see Martin and Bosco.
I'm sorry you got anon hate for a harmless gesture of love and remembrance.
Thank you for the kind message. I really appreciate you reaching out, especially when I was feeling a bit down about the Anon hate.
@xn3city added the banger line to Martin and Bosco's post in July 2022!
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
I think xn3city’s addition is why Martin and Bosco’s post originally resonated with the Tumblr community. It’s also why I love being on Tumblr. A stranger reblogged my photo and gave it deeper meaning. Thank you, Internet stranger friend. You gave me a gift.
I've been following you for a LONG while now and I adore seeing Martin and Bosco on my dash, however they come to be. It's a wonderfully happy picture and if giving Tumblr a chunk of change is needed to spread that happiness then I see absolutely no issue 🫶🫶
Thank you for such a lovely message, Anon. I appreciate you being a long-term follower and putting up with my nonsense. XD
I'm going to use your message to explain to people new to my blog why I don't turn the blaze feature off for Martin and Bosco's post. For most of the Tumblr community, sharing "the boys" is just a bit of fun. Probably similar to how I adore reblogging the Eye of Sauron post or my extensive "It's going to be May!" collection.
For a smaller group of people, the post means something different. They reblog or blaze Martin and Bosco to remember a lost loved one or pet. To honour the late Peter Morwood and the great Terry Pratchett. I know people whose grief has been minimized by others in their lives, so they share my post to take part in a space where grief is openly acknowledged. There are also a handful of folks who are struggling to remain in this life who share my photo because they can see a tangible moment of joy.
I wish the irate people would just block millenniallust4death rather than take this small, nice thing away from the people who need it. I love the Tumblr community and am grateful that Anon hate is only a tiny part of my experience here.
I remember when Blazing became a feature of the site. Martin and Bosco became a fixture in my zeitgeist. I got married, telling myself that taking pictures is not a crime, and if my stepson looks at me quizzically when I reach for the camera when they're doing "nothing important," I just smile. We all crowd around the screen afterward to look at the pictures together and this is in large part, due to your boys and the joy they remind us to find.
Thank you for taking the time to write this message. It's exactly the kind of impact I hope Martin and Bosco’s photo inspires.
I have so many photos of Martin and Bosco because I was in a dog photography group that had a weekly assignment. At the time, Martin’s family ridiculed me for having too much free time and said I should somehow be more productive. But by then, my dad had died of a rare cancer, so I understood that time with loved ones is finite. So I kept taking my weekly photo of Martin and Bosco for years. Now that they are gone, my photos have raised thousands of dollars to fund clinical research for Multiple Myeloma. And the waterpark photo has gone on to bring comfort and joy to many folks in the Tumblr community.
So keep taking photos of your family. One day, you will be so glad that you did.

I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD

ENGLAND. WHERE IT IS IN A BAG AND YOU MAKE IT YOURSELF.

England, you stole tea from China. You’ve had it a mere 4 centuries compared to their 30+. Don’t play like you’re some kind of authority.

Shots fired. World War Tea has officially begun.

Visuals in Warrior Nun that needs to be yapped about more.
Episode 1 : Psalm 46:5
Colour Palette.
The major palette for the first episode is obviously a warm palette, considering how we’re circling around the whole divine symbolism.
But what’s interesting about the colour, is how when Shannon (The current Warrior Nun) is in the picture, we will get hints of cold palette in the scenes:
Granted, it’s just the divinium announcing its presence, but there are also hints of them in the flashback scenes where Mary and Shannon had that talk about how Shannon seems like she had something on her mind: (I might be reaching, and it's faint)
But then, we see how the palette starts to follow Ava wherever she goes:
This part is kinda cool to me cause you see Ava leaving the cold palette and heading towards the warmer palette, which to her, seems like freedom, but she’s actually heading towards where she was meant to be.
Also, while she leaves, the song Ilomilo by Billie Eilish plays in the background. And guess what colour Ilo Milo represents? Yep. Warm and cold. (We can yap more about how Ilo Milo is important to this scene but this post is about visuals lmao)
Anyways, here’s Ava with the cold palette following her around again:
And again, this might also be reaching, but when we get the scene of Ava’s former orphanage, we see the cold palette again. This makes me wonder if the cold palette represents the bearer of the Halo—and if it does, then Ava wasn’t just a random civilian who was chosen to bear
(This whole concept reminds me of that part in KungFu Panda where Po was 'accidentally' chosen as the dragon warrior btw)
But when we get to the end of the episode, we see the cold palette seemingly disappear as Ava starts to face the Wraith, and the impending conflict that comes with bearing the Halo.
So whenever we see the cold palette, we start to associate it with the Warrior Nun’s presence. Whenever we see the warm palette, we think of the OCS, the Church, or the Wraith.
The colours are essentially training our brains to make those associations. So when those colours appear later on, we subconsciously anticipate what’s coming when the reveal finally happens and our brain goes: “HOLY SHIT THIS SHOW IS INCREDIBLE.”
Okay, that’s all for the colour palette yap in Episode 1. I also yap about the shots i like in EP1. It's not draggy like my fic dw.
K thats it. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
If you wanna dive deeper into the themes, symbolism, and hidden meanings of Episode 1, head over to Drizzle's post , Drizzle break down a lot of the narrative details that I didn’t cover here.
Visuals that I think are important in Warrior Nun
Episode 1: Psalms 46:5
Shots.
Rear view shots—specifically, Ava's.
Ava’s narrative in the first episode is mainly internal. Choosing rear-view shots is an incredibly effective way to make sure that the audience understands how isolated Ava is to everything, and how all the decisions she makes are made internally, not from what she gathers externally.
We see Ava facing a lot of weird shit as she comes back alive, and yet none of the things she sees scares her, because all she wants—internally—is to live.
Often, rear-view shots placed us as observers of the character rather than giving us direct access to their emotion (the face) But with Ava, we repeatedly get Ava’s rear shot almost every time before the camera reveals her monumental close-up or front view. That pattern makes each reveal more significant, like we're finally allowed to be closer to her emotions.
(Also, Vincent and Mary are the only other characters where we get to see their rear-view shot too in EP1. Highlighting their characters as integral figures for the episode or Ava's introduction)
Front view shots.
If you read Drizzle’s post, you’ll understand how the theme of Episode 1 circles around religion, God, and philosophical symbolism. But these front-view shots of Ava introduce the theme of human connection into the episode, allowing us to understand and empathise with her and everything she carries.
Through these shots, we begin to understand why she chooses to keep running away from the Church, why she returns to the orphanage, and why she runs along the beach. Everything she does is driven by one core desire—to live, fully, this time.

I talked about colour pallete of EP1 too! You can read about it too while you're at it.
k thanks for stopping by, go see drizzle's post.
EPISODE 1: Psalms 46:5
God is in her midst. She will not be shaken. God will help her at the break of dawn.
Themes
The opening sequence sets the themes of the story right away. Not only does it set its location—Andalusia, Spain, but its visual language. Liturgical imagery and music follow the camera as it delves underground to the church’s secret crypt to a…dead girl? Something feels off, doesn’t it? The saints appear to be witnessing the events alongside the viewer. Agony and sadness depicted upon their visage.
Our protagonist, Ava, lies before a stained glass image of Arch Angel Michael. A warrior stuck between the battle of good versus evil. He bears his halo, sword and shield. Clever. The tone is serious when it needs to be, relatable and fun when you begin to catch on. It plays with your initial assumptions and leaves you scrambling to catch on; Sister Frances lies in front of a member of the clergy and the monk pulls out his cellphone as if it's routine and part of his every day.
We’re introduced to the OCS by watching them skitter across a courtyard, they’re quiet, covert enough to go undetected. And then they break through the crypt doors with a bang! and the pacing of the story begins. Characters, motivations, relationships and consequences are established.
Shannon’s “Don’t trust…anyone,” catches your attention and then everything springs into chaos.
Ava is headstrong, resilient and too sharp for her own good. Her first instincts are survival. She runs, but that doesn’t stop her from discovering the world that has been within arms reach. If only she could. So she touches the columns of the church before leaving, scrapes her fingertips against it. Feeling the cold, rough stone for the first time in years. The composition of the shot establishes what has made it possible. Ava has come back to life through divine intervention. A literal walking miracle.
“Hi, Ava,” Ava says upon kissing her reflection on a shop window. A journey of self-discovery starts with those words. Not only does Ava have to acclimate to feeling and moving again, she needs to sort herself out mentally and emotionally as well.
Ava is insanely self aware of what has happened to her. To a degree of course. “...but you can’t blame me for being confused. There’s gotta be a reason this is happening. Someone did this to me. And that someone must have answers.” Then, the scene abruptly cuts to Vincent climbing the steps of the church where the end events of his mechanisms have just taken place.
Interesting choice here to have a poster of George Orwell’s 1984 in Ava’s side of the room. A story in which a person is stripped of their freedoms and constantly watched by an omniscient presence. A reference to Ava’s oppression at the hands of Sister Frances. It’s kind of funny in a way, Ava’s subtle middle finger to the nun.
Ava’s pull to the ocean comes from the need to seek peace. The repetitive sound of waves crashing onto the sand. Soothing. The sky above riddled with stars. Endless. Ava stands before the vastness before her and bursts into life. Screaming at top of her lungs and sprinting as fast as she physically can. As she falls on the sand, her hand runs through it. There’s a sense of catharsis as she cries, taken aback by the gift she has been given once again. This time with a silent vow to not squander it.
The song that plays is Message To Bear - They Ran.
When we talked about where we'd go
Never thought of how, how we'd run
As Mary’s motorcycle revs through the quiet streets of Antequera—an hour or so from the city of Málaga, we get our first glimpse of The Cat’s Cradle. Where both Renaissance and Gothic styles exist. It’s hidden away and obscure, another nod to just how covert the OCS and their sect is. In the following scene Ava makes this remark, “Institutions. I hate them, you know. They… they focus power in one direction. And everyone under them is just abused,” foreshadowing some of her actions later in the season.
Father Vincent's end monologue and accompanying montage of the dangers the heroines are about to face are as real in this world as two people overdosing on the floor of a club, “How should I say this? If I told you that demons are real. They are within us…”. The quote leaves viewers with a sense of dread, of true unease, as Ava is seemingly unaware and unprepared of the upcoming dangers.
@maxmayo11 also did posts about shots and palettes, and how they play with our perceptions and initial assumptions about characters.
