Off the Wall, which drew heavily from the very sound being pushed aside, turned it into one of the defining albums of his career. It went on to win 3 AMA awards (Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, Favorite Soul/R&B Album, and Favorite Soul/R&B Single for “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough.”) and a Grammy (Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough"). It was also the first album by any solo artist to put four singles in the Hot 100's top 10.

Happy 47th Anniversary to Off The Wall

Finished the two Vaporeons! I was supposed to finish in December but new job and a loss, but I'm done. There will be a third one later but that's not gonna be pretty like these two.

For now I'll be working through old trades, commissions, challenges, and sketching in between~

Gurjin - Dagger and Baton Props - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $1,152 - Lot 176

"An original dagger and baton props used by Gurjin (performed by Dave Chapman and voiced by Harris Dickinson) in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019). 

The dagger prop is composed of a cast foam rubber material that features an iridescent silver-tone painted blade and a faux wrapped hilt. The hilt and blade feature hand-painted detailing throughout. The baton prop is composed of a cast resin material that is hand-painted to simulate wood-grain. The center of the baton features a faux wrapped design.

Generic Stonewood Gelfling Ensemble (A) - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $2,240 - Lot 190

"A collection of three costume elements for a generic Stonewood Gelfling puppet from the production of the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019). 

The ensemble is comprised of a leather hat, a wool-style tunic featuring a quilted mantle with a loose knit overlay and underneath leather material, and a leather belt with individual rolls of leather spooled together and glazed ceramic beads on tassels.

The tassels that hang from the arms of the tunic are lovingly referred to internally as "Froud Shrouds," in reference to The Dark Crystal's original designer, Brian Froud, and fabricator, Wendy Froud. During the filming of the original film, the Frouds added tassels to hang from the sleeves of the Gelfling puppets to help hide the puppeteering rods for the arms. Despite having the technology in place to digitally remove rods for the prequel series, the Frouds insisted that the tassels remain on the arms of the Gelflings because the style had already been established.
