Yknow what…I simply just don’t believe the majority of people who say that transitioning saved their life. I think it’s something they have to tell themselves to justify the physical and emotional cost of transition. I struggle to believe they would’ve just automatically killed themselves without hormones or surgery; I think their lives would’ve just been different. And they struggle to acknowledge that bc it’s hard to imagine a life that doesn’t exist, it’s easier to act like there was no other way and the path they chose was the only one available
