tw anxiety and panic attacks
Whitley has struggled with anxiety and panic attacks since he was a kid, but they’ve definitely only worsened as he’s gotten older and had to deal with Beth and now the anxiety of worrying about his friends.
While medication has helped with all his anxiousness, it hasn’t cured it. Sure, his stress has gone down, but the anxiety remains and he’s pretty sure it always will.
He’s worried about Malachi and Mark, but he doesn’t know what he can do to really help them. He can’t get involved with the drug trade because not only would it piss off Beth, but he was too concerned about the consequences.
He likes playing double agent, he likes being around his friends again. But for as much as he can’t stand Beth and for how much he fears her, he knows he’ll never be able to leave her business. There was a long time that she and the work that he did for her was all he had. He didn’t want to say he was dependent on her in any way, especially not now, but in a weird way he knows he would miss her and feel bad if he were to ever fully betray her.
Whit worries about Alice. He doesn’t care that she does different drugs, she just worries she’ll end up on the same thing that Malachi and Mark were on.
There have been times where he’s been tempted to join in some of the festivities that everyone else gets into at Wonderland, and he knows if he has another break like he’s had in the past, he probably will. He’s just always worried about the what if’s of it all. And everyone else says that it’ll help him relax, but he isn’t sure. Maybe they’re right and he’s just being his normal. paranoid self.
He smokes sometimes when his nerves get the better of him.
He’s had panic attacks that have made him do things that he regretted almost immediately.
Don’t ask him about his sexuality because he doesn’t fucking know.
He’s still trying to figure out who he is and what he likes and what he really wants to do, and that’s a lot harder to do when you’re an adult. He kind of hates that his most defining feature is his extreme anxiousness. But if someone asked him to describe himself with one word, it would be anxious.
Scared of magic, scared of dying, scared of Beth killing him when his back is turned, scared of his friends dying.
