In the sticky heat of may I find myself finding safety in what used to make me. The setting sunshine coming through behind clouds of sorrowful grey. The beautiful trumpet flowers blooming around the flag poll. The sound of the children having fun running around, feeling like something more powerful for the day. The parents joyful cheers as they all root for what's necessarily the same team. I find comfort in what im not apart of.

Because im un important in my own mind, and can't find the joy in simply being alive

I lack achievements of amazing valor, with no sense of beauty that makes me so much more

And I just cant seem to succeed in the seeking of the joy in my own dreams

To a life so filled of wonder and dreams that's simple feels not right for me

holding my breath sturdy and in hopes that I'll soon will feel veritably seen
