Fall Recap

I’ve been out of New York City, subletting my apartment to work remotely while existing economically, since mid-October. But looking forward to being back in blizzardy Brooklyn by January 1 — And reunited with this girl. <---

Here’s what I’ve been up to: – Spending time with the footage and always finding new moments I’m in love with – Piecing it together in a few different ways to see what we like best — from the very narrative to the considerably abstract – Brainstorming about how to work with our strengths and surmount some audio issues (like the limitations of working with only one lav mic, the deafening, ever-present roar of the El Cauchero hotel radiator) – Researching the symptoms of Dengue Fever – Working out the scenes we’ll shoot with Cara in 2014 – Considering the infinite different ways to tell a story with film (Who’s seen Chris Marker’s La Jetée?) – Dreaming of the celeb man-crushes that could play Addie’s ex-bf back home (Which one of you clowns was it that kept insisting on Benedict Cumberbatch?)

And beyond Belén, if you’re curious: – Subletting an awesome (haunted) house in Savannah, GA and usurping some inspiration from my writerly friends who are locals – Doing the freelancer’s version of a day job (look for my writing on Architizer.com, among other places) – Reading Tom & David Kelley's Creative Confidence – Crashing some great conferences at the American Film Market – Attending the Southern Screen Film Festival in Louisiana for a film I associate produced (You’re In Charge) – MISSING MY CLOWNS
