I am fairly obsessed with this fic! I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it was first published and i knew i had to bind it! I love how prim writes very distinct POVs and yue qingyuan's POV in this fic is GORGEOUS because he is so so biased haha. This fic is single-handedly responsible for making me obsessed with yue qingyuan and shen qingqiu's background, WOW.

For design notes, i looked up a lot of reference photos for chinese lattice windows, doors and furniture designs as i found that really interesting as an analogy for the way shen qingqiu (and in turn yue qingyuan) hide their emotions/motivations from one another. Also they just look lovely haha. I was inspired by the design process that @celestial-sphere-press went through for her "To Conquer An Emperor" bind and the fan window cut out was inspired by @clovenhoofbindery's cutout for her "Away Childish Things" bind, because they look sexy. However mine was not cut out (!!!) by hand (!!!) as i got my silhouette to do the hard work.

tl;dr: There's no evidence the interview that this was mentioned in even exists, no evidence the route of the cable has ever changed, and the whole story seems to originate from one dude's podcast.

the strangest fandom hobby is plotty fanfiction, the kind that requires research, because engaging in this hobby makes no goddamned sense.
